What does Baki Dou mean?
The Way of Baki Baki-Dou (刃牙道, Baki Dō; stylized BAKI-DOU; literally: “The Way of Baki” or “Baki’s Path”) is a fourth manga series, written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki, serialized in Weekly Shounen Champion from March 20, 2014 to April 5, 2018.
In the second manga series, when Baki is 17, his appearance reverts to its initial version at the beginning of Grappler Baki, with a more mature look. A carefree, almost weary demeanor replaces his childlike behavior. His hair is now much longer, going below his ears. Baki’s appearance as an 18-year-old in the third manga series is not much different than his previous look in New Grappler Baki. The only changes in his appearance are that his hair is now more curly, and he has grown to be 167 cm (5’6″) tall.

Who did Baki kiss?
The moment before the final, Baki is having a meaningful conversation with Kozue in the corridor. The underground arena champion initiates a kiss with Kozue for the first time, showing his affection more openly.
Baki Hanma (範馬 刃牙, Hanma Baki) is the main character and protagonist of the Baki the Grappler franchise. At thirteen, he decided to take his training into his own hands to perform more intense training in his father’s footsteps. He later aims to defeat him. Baki first fought in the no-rules arena at fifteen and went on to become its champion. He is the son of Yuujirou Hanma and Emi Akezawa and the half-brother of Jack Hanma. The saga starts with the Shinshinkai Karate tournament at the Tokyo Budokan arena. Baki is 17 years old now. He never practiced karate, so he has a white belt, but he easily reaches the finals, where his opponent is Atsushi Suedou. Before the start of the duel, Baki for the first time meets Doppo Orochi, the grandmaster of the Shinshinkai Karate. Eventually, the fight begins and Suedou, despite his great skills, has no chance about defeating Baki. At some point Baki tells him that the only chance to defeat him is to hit him in the face (which is against the rules). Angry Suedou agrees and strikes him in the face with all his might, destroying his hand. Baki then quickly defeats his opponent and wins the tournament. After the fight, Doppo tells Baki that he knows the truth about him and he realizes that this kind of strength is not gained from tournaments like this one. Later, Baki meets Kiyosumi Katou, who has watched his duel and wants to provoke him to battle. Eventually, they are interrupted by an old jujutsu master named Izou Motobe, who also wanted to meet Baki after the finals. Baki’s had enough of all the fuss and he’s getting out of there. He goes back to the house where he lives with his old dog Musashi. He rents a house from Kinuyo Matsumoto, who lives next door with her daughter named Kozue.Since his birth, Baki has been training so that he may one day surpass his father Yuujirou and earn his love. Baki’s mother, Emi Akezawa made sure that he had the most advanced training equipment around. She has provided him throughout his life with the best martial arts teachers, personal gym trainers, and sports equipment that money can buy. Also, his mother’s employee, Hitoshi Kuriyagawa, is responsible for organizing the new duels for him. Baki eventually became famous in his home town as the most feared punk around as he beat up all the thugs he could find. This caused all the other thugs to graffiti all over his house, because they could not hurt him physically.Baki meets with Doppo and tries to persuade him to give up the fight. He says Doppo will die in this battle. Then the karate grandmaster decides to invite him to a “special day” of Shinshinkai, in which various karate fighters have the right to come and beat him in battle. Baki is impressed by Doppo’s skills but still doubts about his chances of winning against Yuujirou. At some point, he decides to attack him himself, but after a while, the young fighter is completely pushed against the wall by Doppo. After their short fight, Baki changes his mind about Doppo’s chances. Sometime later, Baki meets Takayama again, but this time in a completely different situation. He sees him assaulted by some thugs headed by Ogino. He decides to step in and save Takayama, who was beaten up, and eventually, Baki scares those thugs away. Sometime before the fight between Doppo and Yuujirou, Tokugawa tells Baki that he has found an opponent for him, which will be Kureha Shinogi, Koushou’s brother, and a doctor with incredible fighting skills. Tokugawa wants their fight to take place right after the duel between Doppo and Yuujirou.

Soon Baki arrives in Tokyo and visits the household of Mitsunari Tokugawa. There he meets Kanji Igari for the first time. Igari is just leaving Tokugawa’s house when Baki arrives. They watch each other for a while, and Baki tells him that if he wants to stand in his way, he will treat him as his enemy. Igari decides that he doesn’t want to have any match and goes away. After a while, Baki defeats all the bodyguards from Tokugawa’s house and then fights a duel with Shuumei Kanou, the best bodyguard of the Tokugawa house. Kanou surprises Baki with his fighting style, which is based mainly on self-defense and imitating the movements of his opponents. However, he turns out to be too weak for Baki. The young fighter realizes that Kanou has a great defense, but his offense is very weak. Ultimately, Baki wins the fight, showing his offensive superiority over Kanou. After the battle, Baki meets Tokugawa for the first time and asks him for permission to join the arena. Tokugawa agrees to his request. Baki is also very polite towards people while not training or fighting, showing good and refined manners, probably for being born and raised in a wealthy family with luxuries until he was 13 years old. Although polite, Baki can be very provocative to his opponents to get them to fight him using their full strength. He believes that a true fighter doesn’t need rules excuses or conditions to fight, considering that if he wants to, he just has to do it and that’s it. At first, Baki doesn’t want to face Pickle. Only after realizing he is possibly stronger than Yuujirou he decides to do it. During the fight Baki uses the whip strike to hurt Pickle. He also uses his mental imaging to become a dinosaur hybrid in Pickle’s eyes, terrifying him and finally ending with he’s intent to use technique in order to win.In the flashback, when Baki was 13, his appearance had a minor change. His hair was shorter, with a spiky style, and had an orange color (most likely, this was because he was trying to be more like his father).

Did Yujiro love Baki mom?
She loved him and vowed to raise Baki to be a warrior like Yujiro. Over time, her love becomes obsession and she never acts lovingly toward her son. Yujiro wasn’t satisfied with Baki’s skills however and left her, leaving Emi with hatred towards Baki.
The next day, Baki starts an intense warm-up before his battle with Yuujirou. Baki starts to warm-up at midday and the fight is to take place at midnight. Kitazawa shows up and brings him the best thugs to train. Later, Yuri Chakovsky and Kaoru Hanayama also come. They’re both helping Baki with warming up. Shortly before the start of the fight, all of Baki’s friends are arriving at the scene. Eventually, Yuujirou himself also arrives by helicopter. Gaia also arrives with him, who is beaten and kneels in front of the Ogre in act of respect to him. It turns out that shortly before Yuujirou arrived, Gaia decided to attack the Ogre and fight him. Baki and Yuujirou’s battle starts with a sudden earthquake. Baki’s father stops it by hitting the ground, and then everyone is extremely astonished. Baki does his best in the battle, but it turns out that he has no chance at all. His attacks do not make any effect against Yuujirou, even when he uses his Roll Kick trick. Nevertheless, the Ogre is very satisfied with his son’s combat level. At some point, Baki’s body is crushed into the ground and Yuujirou begins to bombard him with a series of blows to his face when the young fighter is lying unconscious. When he’s almost killed by his own father, Emi enters the duel. For the first time, she defends her son and attacks Yuujirou with her fist, stopping him from further attacks towards their son. Her act of courage saves Baki’s life, but unfortunately, Emi is murdered by her beloved, who embraces her and breaks her spine.Baki learns that Tokugawa is organizing a great martial arts tournament. The winner of the tournament will get a precious belt, which people once awarded to the pankration champions. Baki invites Kozue to go with him to the Tokyo Dome and explore his secret world. Underground, Baki meets a lot of old friends who will also take part in the tournament. In the first battle, he fights with a huge wrestler named Andreas Regan. At first, Regan disregards Baki because of his height, but after a while, he realizes that the young champion is a serious fighter, thanks to whom the wrestler can do his best. Anyway, Baki directly challenges him to exchange punches, then repels the opponent’s attacks without many problems and wins the duel. After the fight, he meets Kozue in the hallway and talks to her. He explains to her that every young man, at least once in his life, dreams of being the strongest in the world. Also, he tells her that some people do not grow out of this dream and that’s why many people fight each other to death in places like the Underground Arena. Baki is a boy that stands approximately 5’6 (167 cm). Baki’s appearance drastically changes throughout the series as he gets older. Baki’s first initial appearance at the beginning of Grappler Baki when he is 17 years old is that of a somewhat childlike demeanor, with short hair that is long in the back. Throughout the entire series, Baki is shown to have a severely scarred body all around due to the diligent and uncompromising training he puts himself through, with the only exception being his face. Another noticeable feature of Baki’s appearance is his mole just above his upper lip on the side (a physical trait he shares with his mother, Emi Akezawa). Later, he returns home and learns that his rival, Yuri Chakovsky, was attacked and beaten by a yakuza named Kaoru Hanayama. Baki also learns that the gangster is a strong street fighter who wants to fight against him. He decides to take the matters into his own hands, and comes to Hanayama’s office to attack him. However, during the fight, the yakuza’s desk flies out of the window and the duel is interrupted by police intervention. Anyway, the gangster receives a strong kick that knocks him to the ground and brings him into a great rage. Since then, Baki’s life is on the target of Hanayama. Soon afterward Baki meets him in the mall and they start fighting again. From the very beginning of the battle, the gangster throws Baki out of the window and almost kills him. Fortunately, he catches some cable and returns to the top. He manages to survive all the best techniques of Hanayama and in the end, Baki is declared the winner, but then suddenly his father, Yuujirou, appears in the place of their fight. Yuujirou provokes and brutally attacks Hanayama, knockouts his son, and then leaves. Shortly after these events, Baki visits Hanayama in the hospital and begins to establish a kind of fraternal relationship with him. After losing his fight with Yuri Chakovsky, Baki wanted to get stronger. So he decided to go to the mountain where he used to train with his father. So the night before he leaves he returns home to find the police chief there waiting. Then his mother arrives soon after to tell him she is proud of him and will help him any way she can. That night he packs his supplies he over packed but he knew that was a good thing because it will help him get stronger. He then travels to the mountains where he meets an old friend of his and his father’s, named Reiichi Andou. When first meeting up Andou lifts Baki with one hand and centers him in the palm of said hand. He looks at Baki and says “I haven’t seen a human in a year, maybe I should eat you” all while licking his lips, it is not yet certain if he was joking or not. Baki with a big smile tells Andou that it is him, Andou realizes it and gives Baki a giant hug. Then he places Baki back on his feet with a big smile because he so glad to see his old friend. But then Baki collapses from fatigue. Andou brings him inside.

How tall is Baki 18 year old?
Baki’s appearance at an 18 in the third manga series is not much different than his previous look in New Grappler Baki. The only changes in his appearance are that his hair is now more curly, and he has grown to be 167 cm (5’6″) tall.
Finally, the day of the fight comes, and Baki is very concerned about the upcoming events. He’s having a hard time focusing on his preparations for the fight in the locker room. Matsuo, his attendant in the Underground Arena, therefore gives him a small reprimand. After a great and hard battle, Doppo Orochi loses in a dramatic way. The karate grandmaster almost dies. Kureha, Baki’s opponent, saves his life at the last minute. Baki is shaken up by the sight of the almost dead Doppo and is not even able to warm up before a fight. Then Kureha’s ex-patients come to his locker room. They tell Baki that they gave themselves up to Kureha, who was supposed to save their lives, but he conducted his experiments on them. This message made Baki so angry that his attitude to the upcoming battle immediately changed. When he enters the ring, he is burning up and immediately attacks Kureha with a powerful bunch of blows. Kureha keeps trying to win by the strength of his muscles, but this turns out to be ineffective, so he starts to use his special techniques based on medical knowledge. Ultimately, he uses his special and powerful technique called Dashin. But eventually, Baki gets up and beats him with a Goutaijutsu punch. Kureha ends up with ruptured intestines. After the fight, Kureha suffers terribly and the arena doctor says he needs someone with the same blood type as Kureha to save him. Then Yasuko, one of Kureha’s former patients, unexpectedly speaks and offers her help. At the end of the saga, Baki again goes into the mountains to meditate.

Then the scene cuts to Baki in the water of a river refreshing himself. Baki looks up and sees an old tree and rushes through the forest to see it. When he gets there he meets with Andou again and Ando explains the history behind the tree. Later that night Andou and Baki sit down to eat dinner. After dinner Baki asks Andou for a favor, to let him camp on Yasha creek where the Yasha Ape has been seen to roam around. Andou is shocked he tells Baki that he shouldn’t go there, it’s suicide. Andou continues to explain that the Yasha Ape is no mere monkey, it’s a monster that destroys all who oppose it, except for one man – Baki’s father. He is the only man to have ever fought the beast and live and even then he still took major damage. All others who tried have never been heard from again. Baki tells he didn’t care, he knew what he was in for and he is trembling with fear, but decides to go to fight the beast. Baki is there camping and while he’s warming up, the Yasha Ape appears and destroys his bench press bar. Baki then attacked but his blow had no effect, and with one blow the Yasha Ape sent Baki flying through the air. Andou arrives with his axe and tosses it at the ape, it does no effect. Andou then charges with it and the Ape catches the axe with his teeth and eats the blade. Then Andou throws a punch at the ape, although it catches it in his mouth and bites down. Baki jumps in and kicks the ape, the ape sends him flying once more and while Baki tries to get up, the Yasha Ape grabs a hold of Andou’s stomach and tears into it. Baki then lights the Ape on fire and it runs for its cave. Baki get Andou back to his house and tries to help him disinfect it before calling the emergency help who takes Andou to the hospital. Before they pick him up, Andou pleads with Baki to do nothing stupid while he’s away.

Later Kozue is kidnapped by Sikorsky and Baki goes after him. Baki later discovers his father Yuujirou was the one who had Sikorsky kidnap Kozue. He kicks Sikorsky out a window and appears to have killed him but Sikorsky survived thanks to his inhuman grip strength. They fight until the police show up and Sikorsky flees by jumping out the building.

Later, Baki decides to go on a long journey to meet powerful opponents to fight. That’s when he swears to himself seriously that someday he will defeat his father. Baki travels the world for two years and defeats various martial artist. Now he is 15 years old. Baki finally comes to Brazil and meets Dickson. The young fighter visits him with the intention of fighting, but it turns out that the Brazilian martial artist is heavily injured and is currently in a wheelchair. Dickson tells him about the Underground Arena in the Tokyo Dome and that this is where he was defeated, losing everything he had in life. Nevertheless, Baki does not seem to be discouraged and decides to find the arena. In the second series of the manga, when Baki is 17, he has shown much improvement. While in gym class, Baki was shown to do 10 pull-ups in 2 seconds (breaking the pull-up bar in the process), jump 20 ft in the air over a 20 ft gap from a standing position, and broke his arm cast into pieces by simply flexing his arm. He was fast enough to effortlessly dodge a thug’s chain weapon with a rock attached to it for blunt damage, while the thug was able to swing his chain at speeds of over 100 mph. He also took a knife out of another thug’s hand without the thug even seeing him do so (the thug could swing his knife back and forth in his hands at imperceptible speeds to the human eye). Baki fought one of the escaped convicts, Sikorsky, and won easily by smashing his nuts. His fight was interrupted twice by Biscuit Oliva. Baki was shown to able to kick Oliva who has a weight of 180kg using a back kick. Baki also fought with two escaped convicts at once, Sikorsky and Ryuukou Yanagi, and was able to defeat them easily. When Baki was poisoned by Yanagi, he participated in the Chinese Tournament and cured his poison. His body was renewed and Baki remarked that his body feels light like a feather. Baki easily defeats Shunsei Kaku in 2 seconds without the opponent landing a hit. It should be noted that by this time in the story, Baki can be considered one of the strongest characters in the series, with his strength, speed, stamina, and an arsenal of techniques being superior to most everyone else (excluding Yuujirou Hanma, Biscuit Oliva, and Kaiou Kaku). Baki is not seen fighting much at all throughout the rest of the second series though. Baki’s last fight with Mohammad Alai Jr was an easy victory and Baki effortlessly outclassed and almost killed him, until Alai Sr intervenes. In the next round, Baki’s opponent is Kaiou Retsu, a powerful Chinese Kempo practitioner. Before the start of the match, Baki trains by imagining the fight against Retsu and learning his movements from constant mock fights in his head, based on what has already seen. When the fight begins, Baki is able to survive Sunkei, the most powerful Retsu technique. The young fighter again uses his special ability to release the endorphins in his brain, but it turns out that he has developed that skill to such an extent that he is able to release endorphins by simply squeezing his ear. Baki takes considerable damage during the battle but is able to handle all of Retsu’s best techniques. At the end of the duel, “Hanma’s blood” wakes up in Baki and he almost breaks the neck of the Chinese fighter. Baki seems to be in a murderous mood and the smile on his face resembles that of Yuujirou. But after a while, he starts to control himself again. Ultimately, Retsu survives but loses the battle. Yuujirou meets with Baki after the battle and shows him his disappointment about Baki’s merciful tenderness.Yuujirou decides to visit Baki during one of his training sessions. After a while, it turns out that the purpose of this meeting is only to provoke and anger his own son. He brings him “as a gift” the head of dead Yasha Ape, and then announces that he want to fight Baki in a month. Baki flies into a rage and starts to despair because of what his father brought for him. Later on Baki meets a soldier, Gerry Strydum, who is his father’s companion. Strydum tells him how to gain strength and experience. He comes up with the idea of sending him to Hokkaido, where some powerful five soldiers are located, telling him that he should experience the battlefield just like Yuujirou. Baki agrees to his proposal and decides to face those soldiers.

Baki decides that he wishes to become next “Unchained”, succeeding in escaping the prison and attempting to make Oliva look as a less pure form of strength, causing Oliva to be angered. Oliva finally fights Baki and the young fighter decides to not use tricks and beat Oliva with nothing but pure strength which he does. He is later released from the prison and goes home.
He battles Kaiou Ri, who accidentally cures the poisoning he received from Yanagi. He proceeds to eat a massive meal made for him by Kaiou Retsu, which helps him return to his former glory.Baki trains on a near-constant basis, day and night, attempting to hone his skills as quickly as possible. As a relatively well-known martial artist (among those aware of the Underground Arena), Baki frequently tends to get into fights with various people quite often, sometimes intentionally, other times by terrible luck circumstances (usually the latter). Baki realizes that the fastest and only way to get stronger is to battle other people stronger than himself, so his body will get stronger and learn from the experience because this is an aspect of the Hanma bloodline. However, at one point, Baki realized that his way of fighting was very different from Yuujirou. He said that building relationships with strong opponents gives him incredible strength, while his father believes that everyone should be brutally crushed to gain absolute power. Baki is also often too merciful to his opponents, which always makes Yuujirou angry.

In round three, Baki’s opponent is Kanji Igari. Before the start of the fight, Igari begs him to let him win the fight. Baki is surprised and outraged by the wrestler’s behavior, so he refuses. During the fight, it turns out that it was only Igari’s acting. The wrestler knew from the beginning that in a normal fight there is no chance to win against the champion of the underground arena, so he decided to use dirty methods. When Baki uses a headlock against him, Igari quietly says he gives up, but after a while, he attacks Baki by surprise. Despite their difference in strength, Igari turns out to be capable of doing Baki quite serious damage in a further part of the battle. Later in the fight, he uses even more psychological tricks. At some point, a woman dressed up as Emi Akezawa, Baki’s mother, appears in the audience. Igari is doing this to confuse his opponent. Eventually, Baki thanks him for seeing his mother again. Later, Baki provokes Igari and invites him to a typical pro wrestling match. Despite Igari’s best efforts, Baki wins this duel using a variety of pro wrestling moves. After the fight, Igari meets Baki and has a short but very friendly conversation.
After a fight with Kitazawa and roughly one hundred other gang members, Baki is upset that he only managed to take down thirty-seven of them. The whole situation is watched by some friendly detective named Kido who has been observing Baki for a long time and follows his actions. He then decides that his current training program isn’t cutting it and that he will try to increase his strength through his own means. Shortly afterward, Baki challenges five martial artists from his school. They are considered to be the elite among athletes. Baki’s first opponent is a wrestler named Takemi Wakimoto. Baki beats him with one throw. The second opponent is a karateka, Tooru Nishida, who is defeated by Baki with only a few punches. Baki then provokes the other three, calling them weaklings. Judoka named Susumu Murakami attacks him and loses very fast. The same thing happens after a while with a sumo fighter, Katsutoshi Shibata. At the very end, a boxer named Fumihiko Hirao gives up the fight after a one punch. He’s the one who tells Baki about his next target. These fights only took place in the manga.

It turns out that Baki rarely comes to school, so Kozue asks him to change it a little. That’s when he tells her for the first time that his goal is to become the strongest man in the world. At school, Baki is caught by Takayama, who is a school boxing star. He’s persuading Baki to fight him. Eventually, Baki agrees, but in the end, Takayama doesn’t stand a chance against him.
Ultimately, Baki gets to the tournament final where his last enemy is his Jack Hammer. In the arena, Jack reveals his true identity and it turns out that he is the brother of Baki. Both fighters shake hands and promise to do their best during the battle. Both competitors use their best techniques against each other. At some point, Jack bites an artery in Baki’s hand, and he starts to bleed out slowly but ties his hand with a bandage to reduce the blood leak. At some point Kozue gets up from the audience and asks Baki to give up, saying that both of them have already given each other enough pain. However, the underground arena champion does not decide to give up. A tough duel continues at its best when suddenly something very strange happens with Jack. He overdosed the drugs he takes in order to increase his strength, and now they begin to modify his body. Quite astonishingly, the situation doesn’t end their fight at all. After his overdose attack, Jack is an even stronger monster for Baki. Eventually, Baki manages to survive all his brother’s crazy attacks and defeats him with the Front Neck-Lock. At this time, Baki’s back muscles take on the shape of a smiling demon for a moment, just like in the case of Yuujirou. In the end, Baki receives the winning belt from Tokugawa, and Jack grabs his brother’s hand and raises it up, showing respect for the tournament winner. Afterward, all the tournament participants congratulate Baki on his victory. The last scene shows Baki standing in the middle of an empty arena, holding sand from the ground in his hand, and claiming that he still doesn’t have enough of fighting.Baki has a strong sense of love and respect for those close to him. He is known to be very protective of his girlfriend, Kozue Matsumoto. He can become aggressive if she is threatened, such as when Sikorsky kidnapped her, and Baki hunted him down immediately to defeat him. By the second series of the manga, he’s shown to be highly attached to his girlfriend, who acted as a great source of strength for him through her constant love and emotional support. Later, however, it has changed somehow, and they probably started to see each other less. At a certain point in the manga, Mohammad Alai Jr tried to gain Kozue’s affection, which led to complications in the relationship between her and Baki. Possibly that’s what caused this change.

His new target is the boxing welterweight champion Yuri Chakovsky. In the anime, he meets him for the first time while resting on a park bench and he sees a man jogging who he recognizes to be Yuri. In the manga, he found out about him from Fumihiko Hirao. Baki then goes into a gym where he see’s Yuri fighting Sensarak Dinoi. The fight is one-sided and Yuri takes Dinoi out with ease. Baki then challenges Yuri to a match. Since it is the Jigil code to never back down from a fight he agrees to fight Baki besides the age difference. Baki puts up a fight but is easily defeated by Yuri. The next day Baki leaves town heading for a remote location to train so that he may become stronger. He is known as the “Champion” (チャンピオン, Chanpion) of the Underground Arena in Tokyo Dome. In the fourth manga series, he is often called “the World’s Strongest Boy” (地上最強のガキ, Chijō Saikyō no Gaki).

One day, Baki is attacked during a school lesson by Hector Doyle, a criminal from England. However, after a while, Baki runs away from the scene, because he doesn’t want to endanger the students in the classroom and expose his status as an underground arena fighter. But literally a moment later, he’s assaulted by another killer. This time it’s Ryuukou Yanagi, the Japanese known as the “poisoner”. At first, Yanagi attacks Baki with his sickles. Soon Shibukawa joins the duel and forms a duo against Yanagi, who pulls out the Indian claws. However, eventually, Yanagi starts to fight bare hand and defeats Baki with his Vacuum Palm. This is Baki’s first defeat since he was a child. After the fight, Baki meets everyone at Tokugawa’s house. The old man is very disappointed and desperate about Baki’s loss. When their conversation ends, Kaiou Dorian suddenly enters the Tokugawa’s house with a bucket of gasoline and a lighter in his hand. He wants to set in the fire all the guests, but that’s when Katsumi Orochi comes in and stops him. Baki is a witness to their struggle.
Baki then prepares his training regime for a rematch. He eats as much as he can like Andou says so he can burn it into muscle. He then trains day and night for the near-death focus, which is increased when he jumps of a cliff and dodges all the obstacles. He also discovers how useful endorphins can be in his body. After that, he goes back to the cave and creates a ring of fire to fight the Yasha Ape in and trap both of them. He then begins to fight it out with the ape. When Andou returns he runs to Baki’s side only to see Baki, a 13 years old boy, fight it out with and hold his on against the mighty monster, the Yasha Ape. After Baki wins the fight, he goes to the home of the Yasha Ape and returns the ape’s wife’s head that Baki’s father killed. As thanks for the fight and the return of his wife’s head, the Yasha Ape gives Baki one of its fangs.Baki’s strength is constantly growing throughout the series. Baki’s initial introduction at the very beginning of the series, 17-year-old Baki was already the champion of the Tokyo Underground Dome. In the beginning, Baki was shown to bench press over 320 lbs when training. At first, Baki was shown to be on the same level as Mount Toba, a wrestler who was shown to be strong enough to easily defeat Junichi Hanada and crush his bike in the process. 17-year-old Baki’s strength grew more, until he was strong enough to face Kureha Shinogi, and defeat him. As Baki’s never stops getting stronger throughout the series, it is difficult to set a definitive level to his strength. At the start of the anime, Baki at age 13, was able to defeat 37 of 100 thugs by himself. When he confronted Kaoru Hanayama, he was shown to effortlessly overpower several men trying to hold him back, and kick Hanayama’s 250 lb desk out the window with ease. He was shown fast enough to catch a knife thrown at him from 15 feet away.

Usually, Baki never actively fights with anybody weaker than him and has no desire to hurt any of the thugs that constantly try to attack him. This version of his personality was shown an enormous contrast later in Grappler Baki, though, when Baki was 13. At this point in the story, Baki is a cocky hot-headed punk who is always looking for a battle with those he wants to prove himself to. He likely developed this attitude because of his urge to be as strong and like his father. This aspect of his personality is short-lived, though, as by the end of Baki the Grappler, Baki becomes his kind, laid-back self again while still trying to surpass Yuujirou. By then, he proclaims that he doesn’t want anymore to be the strongest man alive. Still, he’d be happy to be even slightly stronger than his father, even claiming that if Yuujirou were the weakest man in the world, he’d be glad to be just the second most vulnerable. However, when finally Yuujirou acknowledges him as the strongest boy in the world, Baki starts to feel bored and detached, accepting the challenges from Musashi Miyamoto. The second Nomi no Sukune is a way to relieve his boredom and feel himself again tethered to the world.
After some urging from his dad, he has sex with Kozue to get stronger. After they’re done, Yanagi shows up, demanding a rematch against him. During their fight Sikorsky shows up and the convicts team up to fight Baki. Baki eventually takes Kozue and flees.Baki’s strength increased more during his fight with Gaia, when he learned to utilize his endorphins to boost his strength and speed. When he activates his endorphins, it also allows his body to react and move on its own, without his conscious effort. By the time 13-year-old Baki faced Yuujirou Hanma, Baki was shown strong enough to tank Hanayama’s punches (which are powerful enough to split a fence open), without damage. He was able to push Hanayama’s 350 lb body 30 meters away with a punch and proved to be faster than boxer named Yuri Chakovsky, by easily dodging all his punches. Baki had enough stamina to fight for 12 hours straight with Hanayama and Yuri without stopping, all while wearing a 45 lb training belt, proclaiming the 12-hour session as a warm-up.The outcome of the match between Baki and Pickle could be considered to have gone either way: Pickle is the one who was left standing after the fight with Baki, but inadvertently used a “weapon”, in the form of a martial arts technique, to beat him. As stated by the onlookers a “weapon” is a tool used by the “weak” against the “strong”, which would make Baki the true winner of the fight for having cornered Pickle. Also, Baki is the first person to make Pickle feel fear and cower in a corner. This is most evident between the conclusion of Jack’s fight and Baki’s fight, whereas Pickle saw Jack as prey, he saw Baki as a friend/equal for the first time.

The fact Muhamad Alai Jr isn’t willing to put his life on the line in their match lead Baki to win with a vicious beating almost killing him. He is stopped by the Muhammad Alai who was in the audience. Afterwards Baki finally realizes he was ready to end his quarrel with Yuujirou, challenging him for a final battle and declaring he don’t want to be the strongest anymore, he just want to beat his father. At the end of the saga, he fights a mental image of Yuujirou in preparation.
By the end of the third series, before Baki’s ultimate fight with his father, Baki is shown to be so strong, that he can completely vaporize a punching machine pad, with a casual punch. At this point, it can be safely assumed that Baki is possibly the second strongest character of the series (being equal to or greater than Kaku Kaiou). Baki was shown to still be vastly inferior to Yuujirou however until Baki’s demon back had activated. When Baki’s demon back appeared in his fight with Yuujirou, he was shown to be powerful enough to actually hurt Yuujirou (this being something that no other character had been shown to be able to do). Baki ends up losing to Yuujirou when they have a punch-out until one falls, although there is still enough of a difference between them that Yuujirou is able to stop and let Baki attack him, as Baki is no longer able to effectively fight due to injuries and exhaustion. However, Yuujirou admits in the end, that he can no longer be called the only strongest creature alive, as Baki is worthy of being considered Yuujirou’s equal due to him forcing him to use more effort than he had in the past. Then it is shown that Baki must pass a fitness test at his school. He fails most of the tasks because he does them in the wrong way or uses too much force: he makes a hole in the track, throws the ball into the ground, jumps the whole jump away and destroys the chin-up bar. In the end, he tries to beat the 1,500-metre run record. Due to his tendency to make any training exercise as challenging as possible, for maximum growth, he subconsciously begins to alter his technique to tax his muscles greatly. This causes him to fail the test but is given a pass as the teacher was able to understand why Baki began to slow down.

Baki was able to withstand Pickle’s “Test of Strength” attack, while the latter charges at Baki with the force to rival a Triceratops. Baki was able to knock down Pickle in two moves, using a double leg kick and a high roundhouse kick to Pickle’s face. Baki was able to endure the pain and survived a leap to death with Pickle from the top of the kourakuen arena. Baki demonstrated his genius prowess by knocking out Pickle by gently tapping his chin. Baki was able to avoid Pickle’s attacks by barely dodging them at skin breath. Baki also demonstrated his mastery of the Five Animals martial art, combing all of the dinosaurs’ style and making Pickle see the illusion that he is more dangerous than the dinosaurs. Close to the end of the fight, Baki was able to match Pickle’s speed and pushed him back. Baki challenged Pickle to an all-out fight, with Baki losing due to Pickle using a jujutsu technique (Aiki). However, Baki was able to instill fear into Pickle, thus making him the victor.
After the whole situation, dying Emi keeps her unconscious son on her knees and sings him the last lullaby. Later, a scene is shown in which Baki keeps his mother on her back and walks with her through the city. They talk to each other and joke like a loving family. However, after a while, it turns out that it all happens only in the imagination of a boy who, in fact, carries his dead mother on his back, and all the people around him are in shock. He’s being held up by cops who want him to leave the dead woman. Baki doesn’t agree, knocks out the cops, and runs off with his mother on his back. Later it turns out that he leaves her dead body on some meadow. In the anime, the whole scene is presented in a quite different way. Baki also imagines that he keeps his living mother on his back, but after a while, it turns out that he goes through the city alone. A police officer also stops him there, but then detective Kido comes in and tells him to leave Baki alone. The hand-to-hand combat techniques used by Baki are also varied in nature. Which are developed and expanded throughout the series, his combat style is clearly mixed martial arts integrating movements of various doctrines this would be mainly karate and pro wrestling, and in his minority judo, kempo, jujutsu, this includes both original movements and movements of his previous rivals and opponents obtained through his training, creativity and experience. He is known for his unusual training methods which include shadow boxing while imagining that his next opponent is actually with him. This allows him to anticipate every move of his opponent in the actual fight and also helps him spot their weaknesses much before the combat. Despite not being able master any style of combat instantly like his father, Baki is able to learn them much faster that others and coupled with his imagining make him near equal to Yuujirou. The whole series starts in Baki’s school. Tokugawa arrives in the place and tells him that due to the synchronicity (a phenomenon that combines things that supposedly have nothing to do with each other) five dangerous criminals are coming to Tokyo. All five are powerful killers who seek defeat in their life. Later on, Baki becomes the target of a school gang that wants to finish him off and organizes a few thugs to fight against Baki. The young fighter defeats them all in a blink of an eye, but suddenly appears Spec, one of the five convicts who came to Tokyo. Then Baki has a short skirmish with him, after which the police arrive, and then Spec voluntarily surrenders into their hands, telling Baki that he had a lot of expectations about him. He tracks Sikorsky to his sewer lair and proceeds to brutalize him to get revenge for Kozue. Oliva then shows up and punches Sikorsky out of the building.Shortly before the great battle with Yuujirou, Baki meets his mother. Emi is in despair after a failed meeting with Yuujirou and starts acting aggressively against Baki. She is devastated that Yuujirou is unable to love her and begins to blame Baki for everything, stating that her son is just a mere weakling. At one point, even Emi’s subordinate, Hitoshi Kuriyagawa, starts accusing her of behaving very badly towards her son. Baki tries to calm her down and hugs her. He asks her if she’ll love him if he wins his fight against father. Then Emi bites his hand and runs away. After all this, Baki is devastated and meets Hanayama, who improves his mood. They spend time together in Baki’s house and establish an even stronger relationship with each other. They both talk about their mothers, and at the very end Hanayama wishes him good luck in his upcoming fight.

At some point, Jack Hammer finds Kozue in the corridor, waiting for Baki. He starts a conversation with her and probably tried to flirt. Baki gets very mad when he sees the situation and takes a position to fight, but Jack just turns around and says he wants to see him in the tournament finals. Later after Jack’s fight, Yuujirou has a conversation with him in the middle of the arena. The conversation almost leads to a fight, but Baki begins to feel jealous that someone takes away his chance to defeat his father, and interrupts by kicking Jack in the face. After a while, Jack whispers something to Yuujirou’s ear and the Ogre bursts into a mad laugh and Baki wonders what such an important thing Jack could have said to him.
His relationship with his father is very ambiguous and sad. Baki almost always speaks about him with great reluctance and anger. At the same time, it can be seen that Baki is not indifferent about what Yuujirou thinks about him. Although they are even deadly enemies, Baki and Yuujirou can play as a team when needed (just like during Great Chinese Tournament). They both never say it directly, but they feel a strange family connection between them, even if Baki sometimes calls his father by his name. This can be seen when Baki invites him to dinner or when they suddenly start to play a scene where they both pretend to eat an imaginary meal together during their battle. Baki and Yuujirou seem to have strong emotions for each other, although those feelings are not typically family. The deeper psychological aspect of their confusing relationship is best shown during their final fight in the third manga series. Also, even though he wants to defeat his father, Baki respects Yuujirou’s strength, openly acknowledging him as the most powerful creature in the world. Rumina Ayukawa pointed out that despite he considers Yuujirou his enemy, they way Baki describes his father’s strength suggests that he somewhat admires him.His intelligence is immensely high in terms of martial prowess, a resourceful and tactful fighter who uses multiple styles of combat at once when facing his adversaries. Makes use of savvy and rather pragmatic tactics to gain an advantage over opponents, such as using his blood to blind them. Knows how to effectively rattle someone’s brain by a positioned punch to the chin. Capable of imagining and even outright interacting to some degree with mental visualizations of creatures and individuals to develop new stances and techniques without the need of them physically being there. At the same time, a significant portion of his time primarily focused on training or fighting much of his formal education is spent sleeping in class.

Later, Baki meets all the convicts in the underground arena, as well as Doppo Orochi, Gouki Shibukawa, Kaoru Hanayama, and Kaiou Retsu. Everyone agrees that there is a war between the main characters and the criminals. The rules of the great battle are simply: everyone can track down their opponent from the opposite team in every daily life situation. Shortly afterward, Baki goes on a date with Kozue Matsumoto. But during their another kiss, the serial killer Spec appears, who wants to fight Baki. Baki notices him and gives Spec death glare that scares even a monster like him. Spec still tries to attack, but Kaoru Hanayama appears and drags Spec away without making a sound. When it’s time for Kiyosumi Katou to fight, it turns out that his opponent is Yasha-Zaru Jr, the son of Yasha-Zaru. Baki states that Yasha-Zaru Jr should not be used as a competitor in the tournament. In Baki opinion, the ape agreed to come to this place only to fight against Baki, because he defeated his father. That’s why Baki enters the fight and interrupts Katou, who by the way has no chance against the ape. At some point even Baki is beaten up by Yasha and then Katsumi Orochi, the adopted son of Doppo, appears. Katsumi knocks out the ape and almost kills it, but Baki interrupts. That’s when a somewhat hostile relationship arises between Baki and Katsumi. Then the knocked out ape is taken to the doctor. Later in the tournament, Baki meets Hanayama and wishes him luck in his fight, but the Yakuza rejects his politeness and says he treats the tournament as a war. Later, when Katsumi brutally defeats Roland Istaz, Baki meets him again and says he doesn’t like the way he deals with things. They start a short fight, but after a while Hanayama interrupts them, hitting Baki in the face. Then Yuujirou suddenly appears in the underground of the Tokyo Dome and introduces his companion named Yuu Amanai, who will take part in the tournament. In Hanma Baki series, Baki decides that the only way for him to get stronger is to send himself to the same prison that Biscuit Oliva is contained in, and fight him. To do so, Baki kidnapped the US President under heavy security just to request to be sent to The Arizona Prison to fight Oliva. To get Oliva’s attention, Baki escaped the most secure prison by dodging bullets and defeating the prison guards in a split second. Even when he was cornered by 5 guards holding M-16’s, Baki was able to take the buttons off their uniform and crack the glasses of the Director. Hence, he was able to reverse the situation by taking them hostage even though they have guns. Baki was eventually able to fight Oliva and he kicked him so hard that Oliva was sent flying. Baki was also able to stand up and kick Oliva after being slammed into concrete walls and falling from the top floor of the prison. He was able to knock out Oliva by utilizing the 0.5 second when Oliva was getting ready to move. Baki manages to succeed over Oliva in a bout of pure strength, by a brawl of fists until Oliva loses.Together with Strydum, he flies to Hokkaido, and then with the help of a parachute he lands in the place where those strong soldiers are located. A moment after landing he is attacked by them and tied to a tree. The five soldiers tell him that since he has already seen their faces, he should be killed. Eventually, however, they decide to use his body as food. The soldiers want to leave him tied for a few days because this would get rid of all the feces and make his body taste better. However, in the night he manages to free himself from those ties and starts to fight with each of the them. At first, he fights with Sanada, a soldier whose specialty is wielding a knife and aiming for the opponent’s vital points. However, Baki overcomes him after a short fight. As soon as Baki deals the last blow to Sanada, he is attacked from behind by the next enemy, which is the Kuraishi, a specialist in combat with unusual resilience and great strength. During the fight, Kuraishi decides to drown him in a nearby river. Baki pretends to be really drowned, but after a while he attacks him from behind and uses the Rear Naked Choke. Thanks to this fight, Baki learns that there’s no fair-play on the battlefield. After this battle, Kuraishi tells Baki that among them is a really dangerous soldier named Gaia. He advises him to run away, but Baki is even more excited and ignores his words. A next opponent, Nomura, is found by Baki on his own. He is an average soldier with surprisingly miserable fighting skills. Baki defeats him in a blink of an eye. Later, Baki is attacked by the other two soldiers. These are Chiba twins, who are perfect in team fighting. Baki at first has small problems with them, but after a while, he starts to deal with them well. He’s wondering if the two of them are “Gaia”. However, when Chiba twins are defeated the real “Gaia” is revealed. That’s when Nomura gets a strange panic attack and starts to behave strangely. After a while, his true personality is revealed. It turns out that Nomura has a split personality and Gaia is his alter ego.

In the second round, Baki challenges Zulu, a Brazilian vale tudo fighter. Before the fight begins, Baki kisses Kozue for the first time. Initially, Baki is attacked by surprise and knocked out by Zulu, resulting in Zulu being declared the official winner of the match. The audience starts protesting, claiming that it was unfair and that the real fight hasn’t taken place yet, but Tokugawa enters the arena and says that a real fighter should always be prepared to battle and a surprise attack is no excuse. However, when Baki gets up and wants to get out of the arena, Zulu again attacks him. This way Tokugawa recognizes that the fight is not over yet since both fighters still want to fight. After a short fight Baki knocks out Zulu, but after a while, he comes up to him and gives him a hand. He’s letting him know that since Zulu gave him a second chance by attacking him again, he’ll do the same. Zulu gets up and the fighters start their “third round”. Eventually, Baki’s abilities far exceed those of his opponent and terrified Zulu surrenders. After the fight, Kanji Igari enters the arena, telling Baki that he intends to be his next opponent.
Baki is usually a carefree, laid-back, hard-training, and sometimes an aggressive teenage boy throughout most of the series. Baki strives to defeat his father, Yuujirou Hanma, who is indisputably considered the strongest man alive. However, Baki’s dream is not to replace Yuujirou as the strongest man alive, but only to become strong enough to defeat him. This goal stems from a natural desire to surpass his father and avenge his mother, Emi Akezawa, whom Yuujirou murdered.Since childhood, Baki’s body has undergone intense physical training; Baki is very muscular, flexible, and durable. His physique results from constant, rigorous combat training and is far beyond that of a typical adolescent. His bones and muscles are also described as being better than those of an Olympic sportsman.

He eventually develops the demon face on his back when fighting his brother, but only for a fleeting moment. Unlike Yuujirou, he chooses to control his killing intent and fight his battles fair and honorably no matter the outcome. Many of Baki’s unusual training methods often earn him the admiration of many of the fighters of the Underground Arena; for example, shadowboxing, or visualizing fighting an opponent, is a big part of Baki’s regimen – sometimes, his visions take an almost human form and given he can easily remember and replicate any technique he sees this gives him a considerable edge over his opponents, as he can “fight” them and learn their weaknesses before actually fighting them. When Baki asks why Yuujirou killed Emi they are starting to have their final fight. Baki awakens the demon face not on his back but on his brain. Although he is able to strike Yuujirou several times, and also manages to surprise him with a powerful technique once (Cockroach Dash), the fight still appears to be heavily in his father’s favor, which Yuujirou pauses many times to give Baki time to recover and to offer him fighting advice – towards the end of their fight, Yuujirou is in good shape while Baki is severely injured and beaten, falling unconscious. He manages to land hits while down with his fighting spirit. Yuujirou recognizes him as his son and the only person who could give him a real fight. Thereafter he makes miso soup from “Shadow Cooking”, Baki mentions it is salty and before Yuujirou lies that it isn’t. Because he had to lie and couldn’t make his lie into truth due to Baki spilling the soup for his father to save face, he declares Baki as the Strongest on Earth. Baki himself gives Yuujirou the victory because Yuujirou was able to withstand his attacks and could have beaten him confidently, evidenced by the fact that Baki was only barely holding himself together, while Yuujirou had sustained minimal injuries, and the match ends with Yuujirou essentially sharing the title of Worlds Strongest, as because although he had won the physical brawl, it didn’t sit right with him to declare himself on another level above Baki anymore, as he had needed to try more than he ever had to in the past.

Later, Baki spars with a mental image of Iron Michael and defeats him with a kick to the head. In order to improve, Baki uses his image training to fight a two-meters praying mantis which he beats using Crane Style.
Some time later, Mitsunari Tokugawa chooses the next opponent for Baki. It was supposed to be Junichi Hanada. Meanwhile, Baki meets Izou Motobe and trains under his supervision. The day before the fight, Baki and Motobe found a beaten Hanada at Motobe’s house. It turns out that Tokugawa decided to put Hanada to some “test”, which he does not pass. Eventually, during the day of the battle, Baki learns that his opponent is Mount Toba, the giant pro wrestler. At the beginning of their fight, Toba has a significant advantage. However, eventually, Baki decides to attack his limbs. Toba uses his best body drop technique, but that’s not enough to beat Baki. The giant wrestler, despite his problems with his joints, decides to use this technique again. Then Baki turns the force of the impact against him and destroys his knee joint, winning a duel. After the battle, Yuujirou enters the arena. It turned out he watched the whole match. When he sees his father, Baki goes crazy and attacks him. But once again, he’s easily knocked out by him. Then, unexpectedly, Doppo enters and Tokugawa organizes a fight between them. Baki goes home and meets some master of the swordsmanship named Kurokawa. The young fighter is a guest in Kurokawa’s dojo and watches his incredible sword movements. Baki is delighted with his technique and speed, so he wants to challenge him. At first, Kurokawa refuses because he’s afraid that Baki will die. But eventually, the young martial artist doesn’t give up and forces Kurokawa to fight. Baki turns out to be faster and wins the fight by the Roll Kick to the face. After the battle, Kurokawa is invited to Baki’s upcoming battle with Yujiro. A moment later, the young fighter meets Chinen, a master of the Kobayashi-ryuu Kenpo. Chinen claims that his martial arts is the best. Once again, Baki wins the duel in the same way. Later, it is shown that Baki is preparing for the battle and fights a few more nameless masters of martial arts. Baki kidnaps the president in order to make a request to be sent to Arizona State Prison where Biscuit Oliva resides, the strongest man in America. When he enters the prison Jun Guevaru attempts to beat Oliva. The fight between Jun and Oliva upsets Baki so much he decides to force Oliva to become angry by sleeping next to Oliva’s girlfriend Maria, ending the fight with Oliva as the winner.Baki then goes to the Underground Arena in the Tokyo Dome, where he fights every month. This time his opponent is Koushou Shinogi, also known as the “cord-cutter”. During a battle, he manages to cut Baki’s hand nerve. Koushou even uses his “steel” fingers and cuts his right eye nerve, but Baki shows him that it’s not enough to win against him. When Koushou attacks Baki with various attacks and tries to cut his left eye nerve, the young champion grabs his hand and knocks him to the ground using his Submission technique. Desperate karateka says he won’t give up and wants him to break his arm. Baki gets angry and knocks him out with a powerful blow to the head from this position instead of breaking his arm. After the fight, they meet each other and Baki tells him that even if he broke his arm, Koushou would still fight using his legs. Koushou tells him to never lose. After leaving the arena, Baki meets Strydum, who tells him that he has seen the fight and that Baki still has no chance against Yuujirou.

Baki starts a fight with him. From the very beginning, he can’t hit Gaia, who considers himself to be the god of the battlefield and shows him his ability to control the level of adrenaline. After a while, Baki starts to using his own endorphins, but it still not enough against Gaia, who begins to speak out his theories. He says that Baki’s body is his own enemy because he tortured it with training for years and did not show him the shred of love. Baki eventually shows him that it’s not true, and he finally starts hitting him with his attacks. However, eventually, Baki almost dies when Gaia uses his special techniques based on the use of the environment. He performs his Vine Art technique and tries to suffocate the young fighter who hangs from a tree, but Baki escapes. Gaia is angry because he’s doing her best, and Baki is still alive. Eventually, the young martial artist knocks out his opponent with an unusual movement that stops the flow of blood to the brain, giving Gaia an attack filled with “love” and not hurting his body. When Gaia wakes up, the five soldiers invite Baki to join them for a meal. Once again, Baki establishes a friendly bond with his opponents, who have made him stronger and taught him a lot.Baki Dou (バキ道, Baki Dō; stylized BAKIDOU; literally: “The Way of Baki” or “Baki’s Path”) is a fifth manga series, written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki, serialized in Weekly Shounen Champion from 2018.

The theme of the series is not only Nomi no Sukune of the new generation, but also the struggle with sumo martial arts. In the Underground Arena, the main characters have to face the best sumo fighters.
Japan’s oldest and strongest “sumo god” is Nomi no Sukune. And now, after more than 2,000 years, his successor is born. This time, Baki will challenge the real god of sumo. The series tells the story of the main characters’ clashes with the aforementioned powerful fighter.

The series is named with the same title as the 4th series was, but with Baki’s name being written in katakana this time instead of kanji (バキ道) and without dash mark.

Baki’s appearance drastically changes throughout the series as he gets older. At the age of 13, he is a boy that stands approximately 5’6 (167 cm) and later has a somewhat child-like demeanor and short hair that is long in the back when he is 17 years old at the first initial appearance at the beginning of the series. Baki’s body throughout the entire series is shown to be severely scarred body all around due to the diligent and uncompromising training he puts himself through, with the only exception being his face. Another noticeable feature of Baki’s appearance is the mole he has just above his upper lip on the side (this is also a physical trait he shares with his mother). In the second manga series, when Baki is 17, his appearance reverts back to its initial version at the beginning of Grappler Baki, with a more mature look. His childlike demeanor is replaced by a carefree, almost weary demeanor. His hair is now much longer, going below his ears. Baki’s appearance at an 18 in the third manga series is not much different than his previous look in New Grappler Baki. The only changes in his appearance are that his hair is now more curly, and he has grown to be 167 cm (5’6″) tall.

At 13, his appearance had a minor change. His hair was shorter, with a spiky style, and had an orange color (most likely this was because he was trying to be more like his father).
Baki strives to defeat his father, Yuujiro Hanma, who is indisputably considered the strongest man alive, capable of stopping an earthquake with a punch and kill a giant elephant immune to conventional weapons. However, Baki’s dream is not to replace Yujiro as the strongest man alive, but only to become strong enough to defeat him. This goal stems from a natural desire to surpass his father as well as a desire to avenge his mother, Emi Akezawa, whom Yujiro murdered.

Having gone intense physical training since childhood, Baki’s body is very muscular, flexible and durable. His physique has been described as resulting from constant, rigorous combat training, and is far beyond that of a typical adolescent’s. His bones and muscles are also described as being better than that of an Olympic sportsman.
In the sequel New Grappler Baki, when Baki is now 17, Baki has shown much improvement. While in gym class, Baki was shown to do 10 pull-ups in 2 seconds (breaking the pull-up bar in the process), jump 20 ft in the air over a 20 ft gap from a standing position, and broke his arm cast into pieces by simply flexing his arm. He was fast enough to effortlesly dodge a thug’s chain weapon with a rock attached to it for blunt damage, while the thug was able to swing his chain at speeds of over 100 mph. He also took a knife out of another thug’s hand without the thug even seeing him do so (despite the fact that the thug could swing his knife back and forth in his hands at imperceptible speeds to the human eye). Baki fought one of the escaped superhuman convicts, Sikorsky and won easily by smashing his genitals. His fight was interrupted twice by Oliver. Baki was shown to able to kick Oliver who weights 180 kg using a back kick. Baki also fought with two escaped convicts at once, Sikorsky and Yannagi, and was able to defeat them easily. When Baki was poisoned by Yannagi, he participated in the Chinese Tournament and cured his poison. His body was renewed and Baki remarked that his body feels light like a feather. Baki easily defeats Kaku Shunshei in 2 seconds without the opponent landing a hit. It should be noted that by this time in the story, Baki can be considered one of the strongest characters in the Grappler Baki series, with his strength, speed, stamina, and arsenal of techniques being superior to mostly everyone else (excluding his father Yuujiro Hanma, Biscuit Oliver, and Kaku Kaioh).

In the anime, he is voiced by Masami Kikuchi (seasons 1-2), Nobunaga Shimazaki (season 3) in Japanese and in English he is voiced by Robert McCollum (seasons 1-2) and Troy Baker (season 3).
Baki trains on a near constant basis, day and night, attempting to hone his skills as quickly as possible. As a fairly well-known martial artist (amongst those aware of the Underground Arena), Baki frequently tends to get into fights with various extravagant fighters quite often, sometimes being intentional, others by circumstances of bad luck (usually the latter). Baki realizes that the fastest and only way for him to get stronger is to battle other people stronger than himself, so his body will get stronger and learn from the experience, because this is an aspect of the Hanma bloodline. Baki has a strong sense of love and respect for those close to him, especially his girlfriend Kozue Matsumoto.Baki’s strength is constantly growing throughout the series. Baki’s intial introduction at the very beginning of the series, 17 year old Baki was already the champion of the Tokyo Underground Dome. At the beginning, Baki was shown to benchpress over 320 lbs when training. At first, Baki was shown to be on the same level as Mount Toba, a wrestler who was shown to be strong enough to easily defeat Hanada and crush his bike in the process. 18 year old Baki’s strength grew more, until he was strong enough to face Kureha, and defeat him. As Baki’s never stops getting stronger throughout the series, it is difficult to set a definitive level to his strength. At the start of the anime, Baki at age 13, was able to defeat 37 of 100 thugs by himself. When he confronted the huge Yakuza boss Hanayama, he was shown to effortlessly overpower several men trying to hold him back, and kick Hanyama’s 250 lb desk out the window with ease. He was shown fast enough to catch a knife thrown at him from 15 feet away. Baki’s strength increased more during his fight with the mercenary Gaia, when he learned to utilize his endorphins to boost his strength and speed. When he activates his endorphins, it also allows his body to, react and move on its own, without his conscious effort. By the time 13 year old Baki faced Yujiro, Baki was shown strong enough to tank Hanayama’s punches (which are powerful enough to split a fence open), without damage. He was able to push Hanayama’s 350 lb body 30 meters away with a punch, and proved to be faster than Yuri’s boxing, by easily dodging all his punches. Baki had enough stamina to fight for 12 hours straight with Hanayama and Yuri without stopping, all while wearing a 45 lb training belt, proclaiming the 12 hour session as a warm-up.

He eventually develops the demon face on his back when fighting his brother, but only for a fleeting moment. Unlike his father, he chooses to control his killing intent and fight his battles fair and honorably no matter what the outcome. Many of Baki’s unusual training methods often earn him the admiration of many of the fighters of the underground arena; for example, shadowboxing, or visualizing fighting an opponent, is a big part of Baki’s regimen – sometimes, his visions take an almost corporeal form and given he can easily remember and replicate any technique he sees this gives him a huge edge over his opponents, as he can “fight” them and learn their weaknesses before actually fighting them.

A genius fighter who is known to have mastered all forms of unarmed combat. His repertoire apparently includes all of the well known fighting styles (such as karate, boxing, taekwondo, juujutsu, wrestling, street-fighting, and so on) as well as some more esoteric ones (such as the Udonde art, an actual system used in the ancient karate). Since the age of sixteen, he has been fighting on the battlefields using just his bare hands, when he fought against both American and Vietcong in the Vietnam War. Since then, it appears he has obtained respect from the American forces, even going so far as them declaring amity towards him with each new president. Yuujirou also innately has an complete and full understanding of the human body and its anatomy and essentially has complete medical knowledge on each organ and muscle and their respective function. It should be noted as well that, Yuujirou has the extraordinary ability to instantly learn and master any skill perfectly, upon the first time seeing it and even modify them to fit him better, he uses this ability to learn and master fighting style. Yuujirou can directly see all the flaws and weaknesses of other just by looking on them, with perfect accuracy.
Yuujirou initially first appeared when he was mentioned by Izou Motobe in early chapters of Grappler Baki as a form of foreshadowing. Yuujirou made his first proper appearance at the end of Baki’s fight with Mount Toba in the Underground Arena of Tokyo Dome. Yuujirou suddenly entering the arena, and all the people are surprised. Baki is furious at the sight of his father, because this is their first meeting in a very long time. He rushes at him impulsively, but Yuujirou effortlessly knocks out Baki. He is seen by Doppo Orochi, who also enters the arena. Doppo tells him that he still hasn’t forgotten the scars, which are a reminder of their former struggle. Both fighters attack each other, but after a while they stops, and Doppo asks the chairman, Mitsunari Tokugawa, to set up a match between him and Yuujirou. Tokugawa happily agrees to this offer. Later that night, Strydum drives Yuujirou to a local boxing gym, where he starts a fight with the reigning boxing champion there. During that fight, Yuujirou admits that beating other people is better for him than having sex. Yuujirou effortlessly defeats the champion named Youichi Tatsumi and everyone at the gym, then leaves.Yuujirou Hanma (範馬 勇次郎, Hanma Yūjirō) often wrongly romanized as Yuujiro Hanma, is Baki and Jack Hanma’s father. He is the primary antagonist of the entire Baki franchise. Yuujirou is the son of Yuuichirou Hanma and the strongest character in the series thus far. Yuujirou works as a highly-paid freelance mercenary and assassin for various governments and organizations. It is unknown how much people or organizations pay him to do his mercenary job, but it is extremely high, judging from his expensive taste. There is a manga chapter whose story has never been shown in the anime. It shows Yuujirou who beat up fighters from some local pro wrestling gym. Then he returns to his exclusive hotel, where he eats a big dinner, then he goes to bed and fantasizes about killing martial artists. Suddenly he instinctively senses someone standing near his door. When he comes to the door and grabs the handle, suddenly the iron door starts to be bombarded with a lot of blows from the other side. Surprised Yuujirou breaks down the door with a kick to see who it is, but it turns out there’s nobody there. Most likely it was Kureha Shinogi, who was introduced to the series in the next chapter. In the beginning, Kureha hated all martial artists and liked to show them his superiority, so it could have been him, even though he had no major personal motive. Someone can also theorize that it was just Yuujirou’s imagination. This is probably one of the strangest and most ambiguous chapters in the series. While American soldiers march and watch the ruins after the “Bloody Mary” operation, Yuujirou lurks among the ruins and attacks General Sam Gary. He kills him, takes his skin off his face, puts it on his own and shows himself to the other soldiers, pretending to be semi-conscious. The soldiers take him to some headquarters, thinking he’s their general, who needs help. When in fact, their general is long dead and Yuujirou has made his way to the center of the nearby American headquarters. He slaughters the army in the middle of the building and meets a soldier named Gerry Strydum. During this time, the American army gathered around the headquarters to shoot the whole building with cannons to get rid of Yuujirou. Suddenly, Jane shows up with a big barrel of explosives. She tells Yuujirou that the barrel will cause a big explosion when the army will start shooting. Jane, suspiciously, finds a secret passage to the underground exit and then starts to run away with Yuujirou. Unfortunately, the Ogre guessed Jane’s true identity. Her real name is Diane Neil and she’s a Canadian spy of the United Nations. Her task is to lead Yuujirou through this underground passageway, where the UN army awaits the end. Yuujirou rapes Diane Neil to take revenge on her, then goes outside and destroys the army waiting for him. Nine months later, Diane bears his child.Yuujirou once appeared at a big and expensive banquet. In this place, for the first time he meets Emi Akezawa, who comes there with her husband Eiichi Akezawa. Yuujirou and Emi almost immediately notice each other in the crowd and starts to look at each other. Yuujirou undresses her with his eyes, so jealous Eiichi enters and starts talking to Yuujirou. Eiichi spills champagne on his suit, for which Yuujirou gives Emi a kiss. Angry Eiichi attacks him, but Lorion Grassy, a Brazilian Judoka, stops them. The fighter wants to defend Eiichi, challenges Yuujirou and loses quickly. Later, Yuujirou breaks into Akezawa’s mansion, knowing that Emi likes him. He asks where Emi is and then kills Eiichi before her eyes. After a while, Yuujirou embraces and kisses Emi, telling her that he likes the bloodthirst in her eyes. He also confesses to her that he wants her to be the mother of his child. Soon after that, Baki is born.

In addition to all the techniques Yuujirou has demonstrated throughout the series that are listed above, he has made it clear on multiple occasions that he can master any technique instantaneously, simply upon seeing it used by someone else. However, he rarely uses the techniques of others for reasons other than to demonstrate his skill, and usually resorts to simple martial arts and exchanges of strength.
When Amanai finds that Doppo Orochi is already damaged enough to finish the fight, he starts asking Tokugawa and the audience to recognize him as the winner, because he does not want to use any more violence. Then Yuujirou enters and attacks Amanai with a blow of the edge of his hand, deforming Amanai’s collarbone. Yuujirou calls him a weakling and throws him to the wooden barrier of the arena. He wants to fight all current winners in the tournament, in exchange for disrupting the tournament. That’s when Kureha comes and says that Yuujirou should fight the losers, because this tournament can’t end like this. The Ogre beats them all without a problem. Then all the victors enter the arena and stars to provoke Yuujirou. However, suddenly Yuujirou is shot with tranquilizer bullets. It turns out that those shots were planned by Tokugawa and Baki to stop Yuujirou. He is taken away and moved to a closed room with a steel door, but after some time he wakes up, breaks down the door and leaves. In fact, as a result of Yuujirou’s inhumanly high testosterone level, higher than that of any creature on Earth, along with an extension of his arrogance, has made scientists like Kureha believe that Yuujirou thinks of himself as the only truly “male” specimen on the world, and view everyone else as “women” or “wimps” who are under the thumb of his dominance, no matter whether they are young, old, or biologically male or female, they are all equally beneath him in his view. As evidence of this, Yuujirou raped Joe William, a visibly very masculine man, both physically and internally, in such a depraved manner it left the man traumatized and in his own words “realize the woman within him” to the extent that he has risked his life in dangerous adventures as a coping mechanism to reaffirm his masculinity. Much later, and after facing Nomu no Sukune the 2nd, he threatened to rape Tokugawa if he continued to speak after being irritated by his earlier words, which caused Tokugawa to feel both shocked and flattered. As such defining Yuujirou’s sexuality is rather complex, as while he has no problem having sexual intercourse with anybody else, it is driven largely because he is biologically more masculine than any other organism. When the day of his fight with his son comes, Yuujirou is attacked by Gaia, who wants to test his skills. Gaia, of course, loses the fight, even though both fighters have long been considered by people as equals. Later, Yuujirou arrives by helicopter at the duel scene, where Baki and many of his friends are waiting. The first of the helicopters gets off the humiliated Gaia, who kneels down by Yuujirou. The Ogre is also accompanied by Emi Akezawa, Hitoshi Kuriyagawa and an old soldier known as Sir. The big match starts with an unexpected earthquake. Yuujirou stops it by hitting the ground. Everyone is surprised by the great power of Yuujirou. Baki tries not to worry about this unusual show of strength and attacks his father. Baki does his best during a fight, but is unable to give any serious damage to his father. Yuujirou is still very satisfied with the level of his son and happily announces to Emi that today he will “eat a delicious dish”. At some point, excited Yuujirou starts brutally knocking out his son and almost killing him, but is stopped by Emi who, in such a critical situation, decided to protect her child. Emi attacks Yuujirou with a blow to the face, and Yuujirou is surprised that Emi “finally started to be a mother”. However, eventually the Ogre hugs her for the last time and breaks her spine. Then Yuujirou gets into a crazy mood and knocks out all the people who came to watch the fight. And then he just leaves the crime scene. When the final fight between Baki and Jack almost takes place, Yuujirou meets Jack before the match begins. Jack tells him that when he wins the fight against Baki, he will come to defeat Yuujirou. During the final fight, Jack turns out to be son of Yuujirou and Diane Neil. After the fight, Yuujirou meets Jack again and is disappointed with his defeat and his destroyed body. He turns away from his son and tells him to leave, but Jack attacks him. A beaten fighter tries to bite Yuujirou, but fails. In return, the Ogre bites Jack brutally. Then he easily knocks out tired Jack, criticizes him for losing twice in one day and leaves. Yuujirou unexpectedly appears in the fighters’ locker-room during the Maximum Tournament. Mitsunari Tokugawa asks him to not destroy his tournament, and Yuujirou says he only came to watch. Nevertheless, he wants his young companion Yuu Amanai to join the tournament. The Ogre breaks the spine of one of the competitors, Jagatta Shaman, to free up space for his companion. Amanai sees this brutal act and hits Yuujirou with his open hand in the face, telling him that he recognizes him as a fighter but hates his violence. At first it is unknown who Yuujirou’s comrade is, but then it turns out he’s a martial artist who met Yuujirou in USA when Amanai worked for the American government. The Ogre was impressed by the fighting style and philosophy of Amanai. Yuujirou is an extremely well-built man standing about 6’3″ and weighing about 265 pounds (190 cm and 120 kg). His neck is exceptionally thick even compared to the rest of the fighters (rivaling Pickle and Yuuichirou), and his legs are extensionally long. Yuujirou has red wavy hair, thick black eyebrows, and red eyes (brown in Baki 2018 and 2020 anime series). Although Yuujirou isn’t as tall and so over muscular as some other characters and has a more athletic frame, vast shoulders, chest area, and, somehow, less or at least slimmer legs. Despite that, his body is still trained to the utmost limit. His abnormal back muscles take the shape of a demon when he gets serious in a fight. He is usually shown wearing his signature dark red shirt and pants in the anime and black shirt and pants in the manga, though he is also shown wearing a black shirt and pants in the anime’s third season. He almost always wears a type of Chinese-style shoes. During his first meeting with Mohammad Alai, he was dressed in blacktop, green military pants, and loose sandals. Most of the time, he is seen with a cold, stoic expression.

Is Baki Dou a continuation?
The five Baki manga series are all direct sequels to one another, with some picking up just days after the conclusion of the prior series. Here is the order you should read the Baki manga series in. The original Baki the Grappler series started 30 years ago in an underwhelming fashion.
Before the big match with Baki, Yuujirou visits his old friend Kanamoto, who likes to hunt. They’re talking about the fact that Yuujirou is going to fight his son. Kanamoto begins a short philosophical speech about what a fight is for Yuujirou, but suddenly the Ogre interrupts him, saying that he did not come to visit only to drink his “bitter tea”. Kanamoto shows him his great and powerful bow, which he constructed by himself, and Yuujirou urges him to shoot him. The old friend finally agrees, but the Strongest Creature on Earth easily stops the arrow flying in his direction. Shortly afterwards, he meets with Emi at the hotel. She wants to show him her crazy love and have sex with him. Then Yuujirou tells her that he is not interested in her at all, and that if Baki disappoint him in the fight, he will break contact with her. When he leads her to an emotional breakdown, she asks if she can stay the night anyway, but he wants her to leave.

Most of the time, Yuujirou sits next to Tokugawa during the tournament and watches the fights. At some point he gets bored and goes outside. He meets a Muay Thai champion named Chamoan. Their fight is very short, and Yuujirou beats him with just one finger. When Chamoan is knocked out, Yuujirou smiles and says that this should satisfy him for a while.
Later, he comes to see his son’s fight against Kureha Shinogi. At some point it seems that Baki has lost and then Kureha provokes Yuujirou to come down to the arena. Yuujirou accepts the offer and comes to him. But then Baki rises up and tells his father to not interfere. The Ogre looks at Baki’s fighting position and guesses what technique his son will want to use. He wishes him good luck and leaves the ring. When Baki defeats Kureha with the Goutaijutsu strike, Yuujirou explains the technique to Strydum.Another indication of his incredible might would be his durability, Yuujirou being capable of taking a full power strike from literally anything or anyone on Earth without being damaged or even flinching whatsoever. He’s also been shown plummeting out of the top of a 50 story skyscraper and getting up as though it were nothing, and he has never actually been hurt in any serious manner by any of the characters who’ve managed to land a hit on him in the series, the only exceptions are Kaiou Kaku (who was using the power of his own punches against him), Musashi Miyamoto (who just managed to leave a shallow cut on his neck), and Baki (who could only do so with the help of his demon back). However, even if they do cause some damage, Yuujirou’s pain tolerance is high enough that he can shrug off most attacks. Yuujirou has also been shown effortlessly overpowering the likes of Biscuit Oliva (who is strong enough to cause interference in the GPS’s of all the cars on the planet with a punch to the ground) with just his fingers. His body is tough enough to withstand things like bullets (although he prefers to just dodge them), fire, lightning strikes, blades, diseases of any kind, cannonballs, and even missiles; with none of these being able to even penetrate his skin or injure him at all.

Later Yuujirou visits Emi Akezawa, who is surprised and happy seeing him. She tries to throw herself into his arms, but he rejects her and criticizes her for not having brought up Baki in proper way, stating that their son is still too weak. He also tells her that he will now take their son’s development into his own hands. After a while, Emi gets angry and rushes with a razor at Yuujirou, who easily stops her. Her bloodlust makes him happy and he kisses her. Eventually, Yuujirou says that he will “test” Baki, which Emi has trained so far. Soon after that, Yuujirou goes to the mountains and kills Yasha-Zaru. He does it only to bring and show Baki the head of the ape, with which his son made friendly relationship. Yuujirou is meeting with Baki during the boy’s training. He shows him the head of a dead monkey, and Baki goes crazy. Yuujirou manages to provoke his son and desperate Baki tries to attack him. His father stops him and says he wants to fight him next month.
Yuujirou visits Mohammad Alai and they talk about the outcoming fight between their sons. He tells Alai that Baki while not perfect yet he has his blood.

At the end of the Jun Guevaru and Biscuit Oliva’s battle, Yuujirou briefly shows up in Guevaru’s hallucination, congratulating him on beating Biscuit Oliva. Meanwhile, in real life, he is seen inside of a car using president George Bosch as his personal driver.

Just before the start of the big clash, Yuujirou lies down and relaxes in the locker-room of the Underground Arena. When the fight begins, Doppo starts off the fight by jumping on top of Yuujirou and putting him in a full-body headlock. Yuujirou reacts by running and jumping off a wall, then slamming his back to the ground. Doppo dodges in time, and then delivers an axe kick at Yuujirou, which the Ogre dodges. Yuujirou tries to use Udonde technique against Doppo, while at the same time Doppo uses the Maeba Stance, which is also a defensive-based style. Yuujirou attacks first, giving Doppo the benefit of the attack, punching the Ogre 5 times in the chest. Yuujirou stands up, undamaged, and wildly punches at Doppo, while the karateka blocks. The fight continues, and Doppo uses Sangan, a fighting technique which allows the user to block all the opponents strikes by making the user’s eyes mimic that of a chameleon’s, therefore being able to see attacks from all directions, on Yuujirou. The Ogre is unable to get past this defense, and Doppo then proceeds to continually punch at Yuujirou. Doppo is successfully landing consecutive hits on him, until Baki arrives and is seen by the Ogre. Yuujirou becomes enraged at the sight of Baki, causing him to unleash his demon back. With Yuujirou’s strength and speed now boosted, Doppo’s punches no longer have effect on the Ogre. Yuujirou grabs Doppo’s hand, and nearly rips one of his fingers off. Strydum makes the remark to Baki that Doppo’s attacks are meant for humans, with the Ogre being something inhumanely powerful. Yuujirou then viciously attacks Doppo, with each hits cutting the karateka’s body up. Atsushi Suedou, who is in the audience, jumps into the ring to try to prove that karate can win, attempting to prove Strydum’s statement is wrong, only to be instantly knocked out by Yuujirou. Doppo attempts to try and pierce the Ogre’s abs with his arms, only to be outdone by Yuujirou’s reflexes, and have his eardrums ruptured. Doppo falls to the ground for a few seconds, with everyone watching thinking he is done. Doppo stands back up to keep fighting, but Yuujirou then suddenly rips out Doppo’s right eye out of its socket. The Ogre finishes the match by delivering a punch directly to Doppo’s heart, almost killing him. Yuujirou is also very fast; he is shown to move at warp-like speeds, a level of speed that is imperceptible to other characters vision, almost as if he were teleporting. He is able to easily out-maneuver any character in the series in terms of pure speed; with characters who are at mid-top tier level being able to traverse across hundreds of miles in a matter of hours on foot. He can strike with enough velocity that can break the sound barrier and rip through the air, causing extremely intense gusts of wind. Yuujirou was shown to catch a 45lb arrow that required 200kgs of force to successfully project and caught before it could leave the bowstrings from 9ft away. He was able to easily move at bullet-like speeds when he was only 16. It is common knowledge that Yuujirou is the father of Baki and Jack Hanma, but he states in a conversation with Mohammad Alai who invited him into his home to meet his son that Yuujirou has fathered many children throughout the world who remain unknown to the plot. No one knows for sure how many half-siblings Baki has in addition to Jack as there exists no record of the extent of Yuujirou’s bloodline. Knowing this, and knowing Yuujirou’s other personality traits such as arrogance, cruelty, and selfishness, as well as very little care for his children aside from Baki and Jack, it can be safely said that Yuujirou has the mind of a psychopath. When Yuujirou was 16 years old, he went to war to fight and develop his skills. He was in the Vietnam War, where he fought against the Americans. After the famous “Bloody Mary” bombardment plan was completed, Yuujirou survives as one of the two rebels. The second person is a woman named Jane. After a short conversation, she suggests Yuujirou to have sex, but he refuses. She laughs at him and tries to dominate him, but the Ogre catches her by surprise and says that he is the one who rules and could kill her at any time. Yuujirou and Jane become companions. Even as a teenager, he already had his impressive height and was very muscular, though not as later. He wore a soldier outfit consisting of green military cargo pants without a top and boots, and a green bandanna. He later adopts a ponytail for a short while, eventually leading to his present hairstyle. Yuujirou’s appearance can be likened to an ogre or lion (as this was Keisuke Itagaki’s intention).Later, one day Yuujirou meets with Izou Motobe on the street. Motobe tells him that he felt jealous when he found out that Doppo is going to fight against the Ogre. He also tells him that he want to settle personal business with Yuujirou. The Ogre decides to fight on the grass rather than concrete, and Motobe takes this as an act of fear by Yuujirou. He thinks that Yuujirou doesn’t want to fight him on concrete, because Motobe is a master of using throwing techniques during the fight. Yuujirou states that he doesn’t want anybody to interfere. Motobe shows that he has made great progress during his last years of training and Yuujirou praises him. Unfortunately, he has no chance to win against the Strongest Creature on Earth anyway. Eventually, Yuujirou knocks him out by throwing him to the ground, mockingly stating that Motobe is lucky because they didn’t fight on concrete.

Some time passes and Strydum comes to talk to Yuujirou. During the conversation, the Ogre learns that Baki defeated Gaia, the master of the battlefield. Baki’s father states that this is not a great feat at all, and decides to do something much better than his son did. He calls the Prime Minister of Japan and says he’ll be here in an hour to kill him. Then he really shows up at the Prime Minister’s mansion and defeats a huge number of guards on his own, and then he shows up in the Prime Minister’s room and raises his leg up to make a kick. The Prime Minister thinks he’ll be murdered, but Yuujirou only breaks his desk. He tells him that he should take better care of his protection, and then he leaves. He is also ruthless, as shown when he ripped Kaiou Ryuu’s face-off and then slammed his skinless face onto the stone floor. Another example would be when he killed Emi Akezawa by rupturing her eardrums and then breaking her spine. He is a very arrogant man, believing and knowing that he is the most vital living creature on Earth, and he feels inclined to do whatever he wants, with no one being able to stop him. He views everyone else as insects compared to him and sees them as “the weak.” He believes that everything should be obtained with pure strength alone and therefore does not believe in using weapons. He considers his body as the ultimate weapon, which proves to be more effective and deadly than any other weapon or technology. Since his fight with Baki went viral, Yuujirou is annoyed that he has gained unwanted fans and has referenced several young children asking for his autograph since the fight. Despite being wrathful, Yuujirou is surprisingly patient and almost always keeps his cool. He is stoic most of the time, often speaking only what is needed and even just what is necessary. In truth, most of the time only silently listens to others and sometimes adds something and can keep his cool even when he is insulted. Although enough is enough, he can be very violent, and he almost instantly switches back to his usual calm demeanor.

Does Yujiro appear in Baki Dou?
In this saga, Yuujirou appears for the first time during the duel between Baki and Kaoru Hanayama. He appears when both fighters have finished their fight.
Although famous mostly for his strength and unmatched combat prowess, Yuujirou has proven many times to be of above average intelligence and knowledgeable about various topics, mostly related to combat and human body function, but also about the history, course of nature, foresight into the activities of others, and much more. Strydum once told Baki that Yuujirou’s mental capacity is far stronger than any muscle on him, which is also a source of his power.

One day, Gerry Strydum visits him. Then, Yuujirou learns by Strydum about Baki’s special training, and he laughs at this because of how “ridiculous” he finds that way of training.
The anime shows another retrospective from the time when young Yuujirou fought on the battlefields. America still tries to get rid of Yuujirou and sends all its best units against him (the Green Berets, the SEAL, and the Delta Forces). However, the young fighter defeats all of them. Ultimately, the Americans turn to Biscuit Oliva, who is a powerful man and a vip convict in the Arizona prison. Oliva is hired to get rid of Yuujirou under the pretext of eliminating some drug cartel dealer. Oliva introduces himself to Yuujirou when they meet, and the young fighter lets him know that he knows who Oliva is. The prisoner is happy with this fact and starts a short fight with him, but after a while Yuujirou runs away, saying that he prefers to leave Oliva for another time. At the end, America decides to form an alliance with Yuujirou. In other words, USA is completely defeated by one man, Yuujirou Hanma.

During the tournament, Yuujirou meets Jack Hammer. When Jack wins his fight in the first round, Yuujirou goes into the arena to talk to him. Both fighters are almost starting to fight, but they’re interrupted by a jealous Baki. Yuujirou throws him aside with one blow so he won’t stop them. After a while, Jack walks up to Yuujirou and tells him something that makes Yuujirou very happy. After a while, the Ogre announces that Jack has very right to fight him.
Beyond his philosophy and time spent training or fighting, Yuujirou is fully capable of living in modern society. While not stated, it’s shown that Yuujirou has access to considerable resources, most likely in the form of connections or favors from some of the most influential people in the world. Given his power and threat level, this is not surprising. Other resources also most likely include a vast personal fortune. This is very clear from how Yuujirou has demonstrated sophistication and his ability to carry himself in high society. Yuujirou has sharp tastes, and whenever attending places of refining or meant for the elite of society, he can blend right in by both dress and manner. Since Yuujirou is the strongest in the world and sees himself as a king, this may be his way of trying to act in a way becoming of a king. He’s also shown to be erudite, intelligent, and well-read in various topics, some of which are pretty esoteric.

He is often called “the Strongest Creature on Earth” (地上最強の生物, Chijō Saikyō no Seibutsu) or “the Ogre” (オーガ, Ōga). Yuujirou is also called the “Mighty One” (強き人, Tsuyoki Hito) by Musashi Miyamoto.
Yuujirou is a fierce and arrogant man. He shows no mercy towards anybody, as he views mercy as a “weak” trait. Yuujirou is also emotionally manipulative – this can be seen in his relationships with his son and Emi Akezawa, for example. He seemingly lives only to fight and cause destruction to anything and everything he can. His whole life and mindset are dedicated to nothing but fighting and growing stronger with each person he defeats, sometimes killing them. He tends to kill people if pushed or enraged enough and does not show care or remorse when doing so. He will also kill for pleasure or satisfaction when he feels like it. He has a deep resentment for the weak and does not even think it’s worth killing them. He desires his son Baki to become strong like him, so he can enjoy a challenging fight with him as if Baki is a toy to him. He is also unexpectedly silent and stoic most of the time.

He goes to the Underground Arena and announces the beginning of the fight. After Baki’s victory, Yuujirou is challenged by his son. He gets excited and recognizes Baki as a his “prey”, leaving the arena while he says to Mitsunari that he’ll be waiting his call.
In this saga, Yuujirou appears for the first time during the duel between Baki and Kaoru Hanayama. He appears when both fighters have finished their fight. Yuujirou ridicules them and states that this battle should not end yet, since they are both alive. The provoked Hanayama attacks Yuujirou, but he can’t do anything. Baki tries to help his rival, but is knocked out with one blow by his father. Eventually, Hanayama is almost destroyed by the strongest man in the world. He easily knocks Hanayama out, stating that he only lost his time to meet such weaklings.

Can a 12 year old watch Baki?
Parents need to know that Baki is an action/martial arts-themed anime series with graphic violence and bloody, gory imagery. Fighters and even civilians are often killed in brutal combat, and characters are shot, dismembered, and beaten.
During his 16th year, Yuujirou was quite different from his current self. He was much calmer, less savage and, not so bloodthirsty, most of the time defeating just his adversaries and destroying their vehicles. However, over the next two years on battlefields, Yuujirou’s desire to fight and bloodlust grows exponentially and mercilessly kills everyone who stands in his way, making him the man he is today. It may be that compared to his youth, the current Yuujirou has had the chance to calm his personality and temper his instincts. Perhaps as an extension of his manners and desire to project an image of sophistication, Yuujirou can be an excellent company to anyone who has earned his respect or consideration. In these instances, he has no problem getting along with the people he has acknowledged. He accepted Baki’s request for a quiet dinner together, where despite Baki’s resentment towards him, he admitted that he enjoyed the meal with Yuujirou immensely. He’s also gone out for drinks with Doppo Orochi, possibly because Doppo gave him an exciting fight in the past and managed to survive. He also rejects the Kaiou title given to him by Kaiou Kaku by claiming that his feelings are enough. He later complemented Izou Motobe to Musashi by claiming Motobe fights for real and is ready to do anything to win while commenting on how Motobe was rewarded for his hard work by finally being able to face Musashi where Motobe could use all of his skills and moves.Yuujirou unabashedly interferes in Baki’s affairs by creating destructive challenges for him to overcome and develop from. It should be noted that despite his oppressive and generally hands-off parenting style with Baki, he wants him to become stronger. His motives for this are a mixture of Yuujirou’s parental projection of Baki following in his image as a legendary fighter and the potential of creating a stronger opponent for himself for entertainment. He encourages Baki to have sex with Kozue Matsumoto, which eventually triggers his transition into manhood and a drastic change in Baki’s fighting maturity which is seen during his fight with Ryuukou Yanagi.

Is Baki Hanma the last?
Nevertheless, the conclusive finale of this martial arts anime will be divided into two parts, with the first part scheduled to air in July 2023 and the second part a month later in August 2023. Netflix has confirmed the renewal of Baki Hanma for a second season, which is currently in production.
Yuujirou decides to test Mahammad Alai Jr. and is pissed when Junior left the match unfinished. He fights Ryuu Kaiou and violently rips off his face. He later fights Kaiou Kaku, who manages to put up a good fight but the fight ends when Kaku suddenly dies of old-age. He met Kaku after he was revived and promised to fight again in a century. Before Baki’s match with Kaiou Retsu, Yuujirou comes to talk to his son’s opponent. He tells him he should be afraid of this fight. During the battle, Yuujirou watches his son’s brutality and hopes that Retsu will awake the true “Hanma spirit” in Baki. However, ultimately Baki does not kill Retsu, even though he is very close. After the fight, Yuujirou meets Baki and tells him that he is disappointed because of his son’s delicacy. In this saga, Yuujirou is shown for the first time when he watches television, in which they talk about five convicts who have came to Tokyo. Yuujirou is in the middle of a small training session and at the same time smokes a cigarette, which he kicks out after a while, and then starts laughing at the police, who in his opinion will never understand how five prisoners arrived at the same time. Yuujirou refers to the phenomenon of synchronicity. While Yuujirou in Africa, a giant monstrous elephant was rampaging and killed 41 humans and 977 animals. After the elephant destroys the task force lead by Saman, Yuujirou shows up and kills the elephant very easily, right after this he leaves and goes to a “summer-house” and stays for a while.Later he goes to the White House and tests the capacity of the president’s security staff (Chamomile Lessen in this case) and after the president is thrown by a window he saves him in the last second and congratulates the young boy who chose to act like that in order to protect the president rather than going and fight him.

How tall is Jack Hanma in Baki Dou?
7’11 Jack is an extremely tall and muscular man. His initial height was 6’4 (193 cm), which changed to 6’11 (213 cm) after the Maximum Tournament thanks to Shinogi Kureha’s limb-lengthening surgery, and finally to 7’11 (243 cm) after Jack’s fight with Pickle, which was once again achieved by the limb-lengthening surgery.
Yuujirou does have a somewhat “soft” side. Offering Baki some soup as a sign of respect for his power after an eventual tie between him and his son; also trying to avoid telling Kaoru Hanayama the fact that he signed an autograph for a kid out of embarrassment. He’s also shown to, despite having killed her, possess some affection towards Emi (and even seemingly regret what he did, but it is hard to say) as shown when he says to Hinary that he would protect whoever had close ties with Emi. He even fought for the weak in wars to be, in his words, a “role model.” Because he was obliterating their oppressors, the weak started to see him as something sent from God. Even Musashi Miyamoto has stated that “there is a kindness” to Yuujirou. Yuujirou is the strongest character in the series; he is recognized as “the Strongest Creature on Earth” with his strength being equated to, or perhaps even greater than an entire nation’s modern military. Yuujirou, similar to his father, was able to defeat the American military forces by himself during the time of the Vietnam War; he was only 16 at the time. Some of Yuujirou’s greatest feats of strength include: pushing back 100 riot police, completely stopping the tectonic activity of an earthquake by punching the ground, tapping craters in a concrete wall, easily knocking out a giant elephant not even tanks could damage, cutting glass with his fingers, and crushing a piece of coal to dust. Yuujirou’s hits have even been likened to that of a nuclear impact, whole armies have used their best weapons to stop him, but to no effect. His body’s muscles are so strong and durable to that he’s able to do things like breaking katanas and knives just by gripping them, walking through walls of bulletproof-glass, and shaking an entire building by merely tensing his muscles; although it’s also been implied that it was actually his body’s aura. In fact, the strength of his finger flicks can be more than enough to defeat his opponent, as demonstrated in his short fight with Chamoan; he’s also used this on a young Mohammad Alai Jr, managing to send the boy rolling back into the wall several feet behind him. When Yuujirou flexes his latissimus dorsi muscles, his back takes the shape of a demon’s face, thus increasing his strength and combat abilities. Yuujirou is constantly advancing his strength, becoming stronger with each person he defeats every day, essentially “devouring” them, as he himself tends to say, all the while his “demon back” is exposed. There’s a fifth manga series and is named with the same title as the fourth series, but with Baki’s name being written in katakana this time instead of kanji (バキ道) and without dash mark.Baki-Dou (刃牙道, Baki Dō; stylized BAKI-DOU; literally: “The Way of Baki” or “Baki’s Path”) is a fourth manga series, written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki, serialized in Weekly Shounen Champion from March 20, 2014 to April 5, 2018. How old is Baki Hanma in Baki Dou?
Baki is 17 years old now. He never practiced karate, so he has a white belt, but he easily reaches the finals, where his opponent is Atsushi Suedou. Before the start of the duel, Baki for the first time meets Doppo Orochi, the grandmaster of the Shinshinkai Karate.
