Breweries Coeur D Alene

We’re a group of locals who love spending our time outside, preferably with a cold beer in our hand. Just like most of you, we take every opportunity to get out in the woods and on the lake. If you’re like us- come on over to the brewery and tell us your tales.Got an epic story of your adventures? We’d love to hear it. Have an unbelievable photo of your adventures? Submit it to us and we’ll feature it at our 4th Street brewery.

Vantage Point Brewing Company’s building spans nearly 10,000 square feet, designed with an open concept to create a welcoming and social atmosphere. With space available for private events, the building features high ceilings, ample natural light, and an industrial aesthetic with metal accents.

About 50% of our focus will be on expertly made “lighter” traditional beer styles, including (but not limited to): American, Mexican, and German lagers; English ESB/ Amber, English Cask beer (or “real ale”); and other traditional German, Belgian and French styles.
After 12-months of scraping layers of wallpaper, pulling concrete, and building supporting structures, our downtown location is restored to its former glory.

Brewing on a 3-barrel system, founder and lead brewer Brian Engdahl continually tests and improves small-batch recipes and processes based on community and professional feedback, creating a creative and innovative tap list for Coeur d’Alene.

Tricksters Brewing Co. was founded with the mission to brew well-crafted beer and the promise of no tricks, just good beer. Along with seasonals, Trickster’s has three year-round beers always on tap in the tasting room: J-Box IPA, Cougar Bay Blonde, and Inspector Stonewalls Amber.
Defined by blue skies, sparkling water, and forested mountains, visitors to the Coeur d’Alene region find a place of intriguing contrasts: five-star amenities in a rugged setting, quiet getaways, exciting attractions, and four-season beauty and recreation.

Recently went on the “triathlon” with a bachelorette party. Brett could not have been more helpful, flexible or accommodating to our group and our needs for transportation, etc. Such a super nice guy! All the stops were well prepared for us, really clean, and a lot of fun. Our group was so impressed with our whole experience.
Let us know about any specific places that your group would like to visit. We will do our best to accommodate them on your private tour. We love trying to make the impossible possible! Learn more…My husband and I went with our niece and her boyfriend yesterday and had an amazing time!! Learned a lot and Brett was super fun and so knowledgeable. Can hardly wait to do another rour with him!!!

For over two years I have served as the beer buyer and taproom manager for the craft beer bar owned by the Coeur d’Alene Resort and Hotel. I manage 24 rotating taps and 275 craft package items. Before managing the resort’s taproom, I worked for 5 years as the sales rep for a small, independent brewery in the area. During this time I gained a lot of knowledge and established connections with the other producers in the area. I have also brewed a little myself. This includes home brewing and for the brewery that I worked for. Went on the classic brew tour with a group of four. It was a blast! It was well planned and Brett really knows his stuff. We got a behind the scenes tour of how beer is brewed and were lucky enough to be there on a brew day where we got to see the brewers in action! Would highly recommend the tour. Looking forward to doing more tours this summer. Your specialized tour could visit local sites for everyone to participate in fun activities. It could incorporate a round of golf, a visit to a historical site, live music, and many more options. The most common question that I hear in the taproom is what’s local? I am always happy to answer that as I stay up to date with what is happening in the industry.

Prior to the pandemic, not many people had heard of Coeur d’Alene. The majority of the people that previously were visiting our area had been from western states. Lately, we have been “discovered” and the area has seen an increase of travelers from all over the U.S.
Trails End Brewery is simply about our love for the outdoors, maps, craft beer, brick oven pizza, and a place to share it with families, friends and new friends! It’s that simultaneous feeling of exhaustion and exhilaration at the end of the trail you just hiked, climbed, drove or even snowshoed. It’s about the waterfall you just found, the creek you slipped in, or the high alpine lake you fished. At the end…you’ve earned that first beer (or root beer) and want to share it. You know the feeling!! That’s what Trails End Brewery is about. Come have craft beer, craft pizza, and share your stories! We have lots of maps to point out where you may have had a Sasquatch sighting too! We’ve been perfecting our pizza and craft beer recipes for many years and are ready to serve you great food and drink at the End of YOUR Trail! Bring your tribe!

Speaking of which, if you find yourself in Coeur d’Alene and are looking for a local spot with a quieter vibe for enjoying a fine craft beer, then head over to Tricksters Brewing Company and go for the J-Box IPA (ABV 6.7%), a hop-forward golden IPA brewed from Chinook, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, with pronounced fruitiness, hints of pine, and just the right amount of bitterness. In the case of the Bardenay Distillery in CDA, the name of the game is vodka and the cocktail menu features a number of vodka-forward drinks like the Bardenay Mule, a local (and staff) favorite. With ginger beer, lime juice, ginger-lime syrup, and Angostura bitters, this popular drink offers zesty flavors with just a hint of spice. But at the heart of everything it does is its brewery operation which has an annual output of 1,000 barrels of Idaho’s finest beers. If you’re planning a visit to Coeur d’Alene, be sure to stop by Paragon Brewing and try their Beauty Bay Blonde (ABV 5.5%, IBU 19), a refreshing can’t-miss golden ale named after a beloved spot on Lake Coeur d’Alene.Paragon Brewing has designs on being more than one of Coeur d’Alene’s finest breweries, it strives to be a welcoming gathering place for locals and out-of-towners to share great times over masterfully crafted beers and scrumptious food. With weekly events like live music, trivia night, and even cornhole tournaments, Paragon Brewing is making a name for itself as a CDA destination.

Known as a haven for fishing, boating, and celebrity spotting, Coeur d’Alene (affectionately known as CDA to locals) is also a craft beer hotspot like no other. Nestled in North Idaho, Coeur d’Alene was actually the nickname (meaning hearts as sharp as awl tips) given by French-speaking traders to the indigenous Schitsu’umsh people who were reputedly very shrewd in their business ways.

And as a key member of brewing teams at Widmer Brothers and Ancestry Brewing, he also brings a wealth of experience to his startup operation – and it shows.

With a theme inspired by the cult TV show Twin Peaks, Black Lodge Brewing Company is an eclectic family-operated brewery located in downtown Coeur d’Alene. This unassuming spot has been a hit with locals and tourists alike ever since its long-awaited opening in 2021.
Make no mistake, Daft Badger Brewing is a bona fide craft brewery through and through but its owners have gone out of their way to create the warm, inviting ambiance of a brewpub – and have they ever succeeded? With a wide selection of craft beers and mouth-watering pub fare from the kitchen, Daft Badger Brewing is a one-stop shop for fine food and drink.Today, CDA is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts with year-round activities set against some of the most beautiful scenery around. Along with tourism, Coeur d’Alene boasts a dynamic dining scene featuring a number of local breweries offering fine craft beers and delicious gastropub fare. While the décor and ambiance of Black Lodge Brewing Company may be full of tongue-in-cheek humor, this brewery’s approach to small-batch crafting of fine, local beer is anything but. The hazy IPA (ABV 5.5%) is hop-forward with refreshing notes of citrus and a well-balanced flavor and is a perfect pairing to go with the scratch-made Bavarian pretzel from the kitchen.

One of Coeur d’Alene’s most popular destinations for hand-crafted drinks and scratch-made food is Bardenay Distillery, Idaho’s very first producer of fine spirits. There are three locations in the state and each one specializes in distilling a particular type of spirit.
One of the most popular selections from Daft Badger Brewing’s ever-evolving beer list (they do quite a few experimental brews year-round) is its Josiah’s Revenge (ABV 9.86%, IBU 31) imperial stout. This full-bodied beer offers up notes of chocolate and dried cherries with hints of prunes and figs to round things out. All in all, an extremely satisfying beer that just beckons for another round. While the rotating craft beer menu is still developing at Chalice Brewing, one of its signature offerings is the True Appaloosa Baltic Porter (ABV 6.5%, IBU 31), as dark of a Baltic porter as you will find anywhere thanks to the use of lager yeast and authentic brewing methods. The result is an immensely drinkable beer with a crisp, rich flavor that just seems to go down better amidst CDA’s beautiful scenery.

If a no-nonsense approach to craft beer is your thing, then look no further than Tricksters Brewing Company. While this is one of the few breweries in CDA that does not have a kitchen, their tap room is staffed by courteous and knowledgeable employees who are more than happy to walk you through their rotating and year-round selections.
If there is any establishment in Coeur d’Alene, brewery or otherwise, that truly captures the spirit of the area, it is Trails End Brewery. As its website explains, Trails End Brewery is all about taking in the joy and splendor after hiking a trail and reaching the end. This attitude is on full display in the way Trails End crafts its beers, prepares its food, and most importantly, welcomes its guests.Trails End Brewery takes great pride in sourcing local ingredients and its Fresh Hop IPA (ABV 6.4%) showcases Strata hops brought over from nearby Moxie, WA. This golden-colored IPA offers a medley of tropical fruit flavors including exotic mango, lychee, and passion fruit notes that provide a nice liveliness to this broadly appealing beer. This is the version of our website addressed to speakers of English in the United States.
