Yes, I think men will like the color this one produces; it’s very natural and deep looking. However, they’ll need to get over the tedious application and bad smell first! Now, application is a bit difficult. I found the mousse was really easy to blend into some areas, but other areas it was super difficult to blend in. The area I had the most trouble with was my inner arm; I just couldn’t get the product to stick there! As the product developed, the smell became worse for the first few hours. By the next morning, the smell had dissipated, but only a little bit. I could still smell the gross chocolate DHA smell.

It ended up smelling like cocoa mixed with DHA. I stunk! As for what I like about it, it produces a nice color and is an average price. I got a medium to dark shade tan after one application, which I was pleased about. It looked really natural; I was surprised how much I liked my tan. It’s not the darkest tan out there, but it’s definitely noticeable and a few shades darker. Get Into The Limelight Dark Chocolate Tanning Mousse is $39 per bottle, which sounds expensive. But it comes in a large 8 ounce bottle, so it actually works out to be an average price point. Get Into The Limelight Dark Chocolate Tanning Mousse is a brown mousse; the color is not too dark, but not light either. It’s a “middle of the road” brown. But as you apply it to your skin, the guide definitely becomes darker. When you pump it out of the bottle, it has the color of milk chocolate.Top 10 Ingredients: Water, Ecocert Approved Dihydroxyacetone Propylene Glycol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine Emblica Officinalis (Indian Gooseberry) Extract, Lycium Barbarum) (Goji Berry) Extract, Euterpe Olerceae Fruit (Acai Berry) Extract, Ficus Carica (Fig) Extract, Glycerine (Plant Derived 99.9% Kosher) Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethylisosorbide (DMI), Ficus Carica (Fig) Extract, FD&C Blue #1This tanner lasted around 5 days on my skin, which isn’t bad! It actually faded pretty nice compared to most mousses too. It wasn’t very splotchy or dry looking.I found that some areas were very easy; the product glided over my skin and soaked in nicely. However, other areas I had to really rub it in, and go back over a few times to ensure I got every inch. So it was really easy to apply to some areas, and quite difficult to apply to others.I have mixed feelings about Get Into The Limelight Dark Chocolate Tanning Mousse. I ended up giving 2.5 out of 5 stars after using it, so it’s a pretty average self tanner. brand background: Lindsay Schneider, owner of Get Into The Limelight, launched the U.S.-based brand by marrying two of her favorite things: self tanning and product-sourcing. The brand is currently sold in Ricky’s NYC, Macy’s, as well as salons and retailers across the U.S. and Canada. Follow GITL on Instagram here: @getintothelimelight.how we applied: Applied just one layer all over my body (excluding the face) right before bed using a tanning mitt. Then, used a kabuki brush to apply to my hands and feet for a more careful application. I let the self tanner develop while sleeping (about nine hours), and then rinsed the color guide off in the morning for a tan that was about four shades darker.
However, don’t let the lighter color guide fool you, after eight+ hours this self tanner develops into a beautifully dark brown tan that leaves the skin about four shades darker. Another benefit of GITL’s ingredients? The nourishing properties allows for the tan to last a solid week before beginning to evenly fade — no splotchiness here.(hot) take on the tan: Get Into The Limelight’s Dark Chocolate Sunless Tanning Mousse is a quick-drying, unscented self tanning mousse that actually feels good on the skin — both while it develops and in the days following application. Gone are the days of tight, dry skin as a tan marinates. This is all thanks to GITL’s infusion of nourishing, good-for-you ingredients like Indian gooseberry and goji berry (ingredients that aren’t often used in other self tanners), as well as its lighter color guide bronzers that sit on the skin while its developing.Sulfate-Free, Paraben-Free, Vegan (No nuts or oils), Cruelty-Free, Dermatologist Tested, 100% Made in the USA, Made with Organic and Natural Ingredients3. The beauty industry is diverse and I love seeing brands that embrace inclusivity! Get Into The Limelight features both customers and influencers with varying body compositions, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those with skin conditions. These are only some of the many demographics completely missing from brands on social media and across other marketing channels.
Here is the main question for our discussion. Based on your experience and success, Can you please share “Five Things You Need To Know To Succeed In The Modern Beauty Industry”. Please share a story or an example, for each.
Although I was completely heartbroken, I truly felt like I was being taught a huge lesson: that tomorrow is never promised and to live every day to the fullest. Just like that, I quit my job but I made sure to take my procurement skills with me. I started my own company sourcing products for smaller entrepreneurial businesses that were focused on developing products geared towards millennials. Over the next three years, I had sourced all kinds of products for companies including Zappos, Electric Family, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, The Wing, and Common.
Since losing my dad, “live every day to the fullest” has been my favorite life lesson quote. I quit my job and spent years traveling the world while building Get Into The Limelight.Sure, at the time I specialized in sourcing furniture, promotional items, and jewelry in China, but as I’ve learned throughout my life, whenever I’ve taken a leap, there has been a net to catch my fall. Why would this be any different? Why couldn’t I take my product development expertise and find a source in the US to help me create the best self-tanning mousse out there? Challenge accepted! As a part of our series about “Five Things You Need To Know To Succeed In The Modern Beauty Industry”, I had the pleasure of interviewing Lindsay Hirsch, a business woman, expecting mother and the Founder of award winning self tanning mousse Get Into The Limelight. It was on my trek to Everest Base Camp in 2018, where I decided that creating the only inclusive self-tanning brand was the next challenge I wanted to conquer.
