In Vancouver, the Rogers’ Santa Claus Parade has also grown to be one of the largest, with 65 floats and bands. A special train also circulates through the parade, collecting donations for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau. In 2005, the parade collected over 4,300 kg (9,500 lb) of food and 2,300 toy donations.

Also in 1924, the J. L. Hudson Company staged its first Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit, Michigan. Among the early features were large papier-mâché heads similar to those seen by Hudson’s display director, Charles Wendel, on a recent trip to Viareggio, Italy. The heads continue to be a feature in the annual event. Hudson’s sponsored the parade until 1979 when it was turned over to a non-profit group. It can take the parade awhile to make this route so be prepared for a wait if you’re at the opposite ends of the route.

It is common for the parade schedule to shift and change throughout the year. Gay Street will also be closed for the parade from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Kyndra Brewer with the city of Knoxville understands traffic may cause some headaches, but this year’s parade will still bring hundreds of happy families. City officials said eastbound lanes on Howard Baker Jr. Ave. would be closed from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. between Hill Ave. and Hall of Fame Dr. The city will also close parking spaces on Gay Street from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Over 100 non-profits and organizations will participate in the parade, which includes Dogwood Arts. Shannon Herron with Dogwood Arts said they hadn’t been a part of the parade for a while but are happy to be back.

The McKay Group Nationals Parade presented by Knoxville Chamber of Commerce is a celebration of sprint car racing’s biggest event of the year and the community that has embraced the sport in order to be titled the “Sprint Car Capital of the World.” You can’t stream the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Hulu with a traditional subscription, but you can watch the event live via an active subscription to Hulu + Live TV, which offers an ESPN live stream.
