Gail Elaine Ellis, 88, of Livingston passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Edenbrook of Platteville nursing home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 23, 1934, in Liberty Township, Grant County, the daughter of Harold and Leona (Gossel) Austin. On October 3, 1936, when Gail was only 2 years old, her mother passed away. Gail’s father married her stepmother, Mae Trodahl on June 14, 1939. Gail was united in marriage to Kenneth Ellis on August 23, 1952, at the Congregational Church in Lancaster. She was born December 28, 1956 in Lancaster to Ralph and Wilma (Allen) Reuter. Ruth graduated from Platteville High School in 1975. She continued her education at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore and graduated with a clerical degree. Ruth met Gary Scott and they were united in marriage on August 20, 1977. Armilla Mae Hilger, age 88, of Fennimore, WI passed away on Saturday April 1, 2023, at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing in Fennimore. She was born on June 24, 1934, the daughter of Donald and Irene O’Connell of Eastman, WI. Armilla was the oldest, with a twin sister of 12 children. Armilla married Jerry Hilger on December 28, 1954. She went to the teacher college in Viroqua, WI and taught in a one room schoolhouse near Eastman. Jerry and Armilla farmed in the Wisconsin area till buying a farm west of Fennimore. Aelred H. Runde, age 102, of Lancaster, WI passed away on Monday March 27, 2023, at the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on September 22, 1920, in Cuba City the son of Walter and Bernice (Splinter) Runde. Aelred was united in marriage to Pearl Bass on December 27, 1941, at the St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Aelred farmed in rural Lancaster for many years until retiring at the age of 75. Gary “Scoof” Freymiller, age 79, of Mt. Ida, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Friday April 7, 2023, at his residence. He was born on August 12, 1943, in Marion Township Grant County WI, the son of Edward and Ruby (Williams) Freymiller. He was united in marriage to Norma Arlene Fry on June 27, 1964, at the Fennimore United Methodist Church. After marriage, Scoof and Norma moved to West Bend where he worked at Gehl Company. Timothy John Cauffman, of Fennimore, WI passed away in his home on Saturday April 29th, 2023, at the age of 68. He was born on December 8,1954 to Lester and Emily (Leighton) Cauffman. He was number 7 of 8 children. He grew up helping on the family farm. After graduating high school Tim enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving from March 27th, 1973, until being honorably discharged on September 22nd, 1975. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 30 at Elim Lutheran Church, 403 N Lincoln St., Marquette, KS with Pastor Amy Kay Pavlovich officiating.  Burial will follow at Marquette Lutheran Cemetery.  A luncheon will follow at Elim.Sandy was a member of Elim Lutheran Church and served Marquette as an EMT for several years. In recent years, you might have found Sandy gallivanting around the countryside with the three other Golden Girls; Sherry Sneath, Phyllis Odell, & Lois Johnson. It is unclear if any outstanding warrants were still in existence at the time of her death.She is survived by her son Matthew Larson and grandsons Magnus & Leif Larson, Shawnee, KS; daughter Kirsten Larson, Overland Park, KS; sister Kay (Ray) Schenewark, Lincoln, MO; many nieces & nephews; and many friends.

Following high school, Sandy worked for E.C. Bishop’s Gun Stock Company in Warsaw for ten years before moving to Kansas City and taking a job at Black, Sivalls, & Bryson, and then Montgomery Wards. It was at a Montgomery Ward’s Christmas party where she met Merlyn (Merle) Larson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marquette EMS or to Elim Lutheran Church. She graduated from Central Kansas Vocational School in 1990 with her Practical Nursing Diploma. She found her calling as an LPN at Riverview Estates where she worked for over 20 years, caring for her residents as though they were her own family.Sandy will be remembered as the strong & loving mother of Matthew & Kirsten Larson and the devoted and generous granny to Magnus & Leif Larson. Dorothy S. Davis passed away Wednesday, June 21st, 2023, in Eau Claire, WI. She was born on July 12th, 1934 the daughter of Lars and Bertha (Kuster) Skaar. After graduating from High School, Dorothy attended “Trinity School of Nursing” in Minot, ND and did her training at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She then returned home to Stanley, ND where she met and was married to Arlen Davis in 1957. They moved to Auburn WA where she continued her nursing career at Auburn General Hospital in the emergency department. She remained there for many years until transferring to a Private …LeRoy Charles Belken, age 76, of Montfort, WI passed away unexpectedly on Friday June 2, 2023, at his residence in rural Montfort. He was born on July 22, 1946, in Platteville the son of Delvin “Boots” and Retha “Tiny” (Kauffman) Belken. He was united in marriage to Gloria Hugill on August 24, 1968, at the Montfort United Methodist Church. LeRoy graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1964. He continued his education at the Southwest Technical college in Fennimore receiving his welding certificate. LeRoy farmed the family farm in Wingville Township until purchasing the farm in 1970 from his parents. While …Clinton “Clint” E. Stephens, age 93, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023, at Divine Nursing & Rehab. He was born on December 10, 1929, in Ellenboro, WI; the son of Donald and Georgia (Russell) Stephens. Clint graduated from Platteville High School. He married Doreen Cook on June 3, 1949. They were married for 35 years before she passed away. Clint was then married to Mildred on September 14, 1985. She preceded him in death in 2022. Clint and his brothers operated Stephens Standard for a couple of years, a 24-hour gas station.
