In October 1971 it was known as the Cinema Suffolk Plaza By February 1973 it was operating as the Jerry Lewis Cinema, closed in 1990. The Plaza Cinema got it’s name from being located in the Suffolk Plaza Shopping Center.
I see that the Plaza Cinema is listed as closed but I should point out that it has also been demolished. The corner of the shopping center where it was located is empty now.
My hometown. My home theater. First movie I ever saw was at this location. It was a re release of The 7th Voyage of Sinbad. I saw so many great movies here growing up. I remember the line to get into Empire Strikes Back was all the way up to the front doors of the Montgomery Wards that is now a Schewel’s. I truly miss this theater.I’ve always gone to this theater since it opened. I don’t have any complaints. It’s always clean and I’ve never received old popcorn. This is my preferred theater. This movie central shows first rate blockbusters with excellent sound & truly confortable reclining seats. The climate control is great. The best times are early afternoons before 3 pm for Matinee pricing. The concession stands are pricy but they all are these days. My 14 year old son & I enjoy movies here. Highly recommended for families & friends. 🤗Went to the movies with a friend and was surprised by the theater renovations. The lounging seats were awesome. However it made the seating very limited due to the smaller configuration. My friend and I could not sit together because of the reserved seating option which was very disappointing. This basically forces you to buy tickets online in advance and pay extra fees. Next time we will go to Chesapeake Cinemark
Regal at Harbourview is a clean theater for kids and adults. Good selection of new movies. concession is good too, great for that rainy weekend or too cold for outdoor Activities. Employ are helpful

“This movie theater is clean and organized. I highly recommend people to come here to watch a movie and there are things to do and eat around here. This movie theater has reclining seats and the movie theater seating is huge. Some of workers are super friendly and some workers need to work on it. Haha. I wish they had more selections on snacks.
