Minnesota’s basic education funding hasn’t kept pace with inflation, leaving school districts trying to achieve the same with less funds. Help us continue Orono School’s legacy of academic excellence by raising funds for today’s needs and tomorrow’s dreams.Your gift, no matter the size, makes a difference to every member of the Orono Community. Because of you, we are better together: fiercely committed to raising funds for today’s needs and tomorrow’s dreams. The Orono Foundation for Education is strictly a nonpartisan organization. We do not support or endorse any political candidate or position. Our Board members and other volunteers may support candidates in their personal capacities, but this does not represent the views of the Foundation. Individuals who indicate an affiliation with the Foundation in connection with any endorsement or testimonial do not speak for the Foundation. Thanks to the Foundation, Orono teachers have access to a program that will help us expand our character education content within the classroom and activities in the schools, so our students can develop the skills to think both thoughtfully and thoroughly in any situation. The Orono Foundation for Education works with the Orono Schools to harness the community’s time, talent and financial resources to ensure the Schools have the resources to continue their tradition of excellence and to empower all students to achieve their highest potential.

The Foundation has helped support the Character Education Program in a variety of ways. Besides helping raise money to provide current training for all staff, they have also given the character programs in our schools a platform to talk to the community about all the work those programs have done. It has given those programs and the students involved a chance to be showcased. We donate our time and talents to Orono Foundation for Education because they support the amazing teachers who support our sons, and we realize that we can be a part of that circle. The impact that Orono Schools has on our children’s lives goes well beyond academics. And we know that education funding goes only so far so we want to do whatever we can to support what we see as having a direct contribution to their growth and enrichment.

Volunteering with the Foundation is a win-win. It teaches my own child about the value of serving others and raises funds to benefit my child’s education. The bonus is working with an incredible team of volunteers and staff who are now close friends.
