We highly recommend! The two hour lake tour offers beautiful sights. If you are staying at the French Lick resort or West Baden resort, the price is only $14. It is a narrated tour, land marks and history of area are pointed out. This could be an excellent adventure if only the guide had used a microphone. We asked several times for him to speak louder for all to hear but nothing was done. There were speakers mounted on the cabin, not sure what they were for, but most people could not hear what was being told unless you got up and stood next to the guide.
It’s a marina so don’t get too excited. The “pearl” is Patoka Lake. While the fishing has deteriorated in recent years the scenery on this crystal clear lake is spectacular. Blue Heron, loons, turkeys, deer, and a variety of wildlife make it a relaxing visit. You need a boat to thoroughly enjoy. Nothing like pulling into a secluded cove and enjoying dinner or lunch but if you don’t have a boat try the wine cruises offered featuring local wineries. Of course fall is the best time of year with cool crisp nights and terrific fall foliage. Weekends can be busy but week days offer plenty of room for boating.
Our wine cruise on Patoka Lake was a lot of fun! We enjoyed the wine paired with appetizers and the trip around the lake to watch the sunset set. A very relaxing evening! We will definitely book another cruise!Just this past weekend I rented two houseboats, the Queen and the Princess. I’ve rented several houseboats on other lakes and have never seen a cleaner houseboat than these two. I will admit, they are little older, but both of them functioned 100% and were very well kept. We had 14 men split between the two boats and everyone had a blast!! The marina staff were also very helpful throughout the weekend. Special thanks goes to Curt for putting up with all of us. I’m sure he’ll have some stories to tell later.
