The splash park concept took years to gain momentum and financing. The process included researching vendors that participated in and were pre-approved through, co-operative purchasing programs. The co-operative purchase approach assisted the Town with timing and fixing prices for the improvements. Town leaders and staff participated in researching, budgeting, and confirming this procurement process.
Planning for blending the peripheral needs such as concessions area, storage cubbies, rinsing shower, shade for spectators/parents, and perimeter fencing for safety and control of admissions. The LA Group continued a long relationship with the Town of Wilton in developing a master plan designed to enhance recreational opportunities at an existing town park. Gavin Park is comprised of 30 acres of town-owned land and an adjacent 17 acres owned by the Saratoga Springs City School District and leased by the Town. The scope of services assessed existing and proposed facilities at the park. This planning effort led to The LA Group designing several master plan implementation projects over the years. The most recent being the Gavin Splash Park. To control costs, the Recreation Department wisely reached out and received support from the Town Highway Department. The Robin Stacey Memorial Award is presented each year to a Jr. NBA player in honor of Robin Stacey’s love of sports and his dedication to the youth of Wilton.2 hours blocked time for up to 15 guests and birthday child. Ages 5-12. Packages include two Party Coordinators, private party room, balloons and goody bags. Additional add on’s : Pizza and cake/ cupcakes. We have two packages available Crafty Kid or Sporty Sport.Wilton Recreation offers summer camp for children entering grades 1 through 9, for 7 weeks. It is a place where “kids can be kids,” as they learn and grow through social interaction with their peers, as well as with their counselors.

Gavin Park is a central recreation complex for residents of the Town of Wilton and surrounding communities. Not only does Gavin Park offer a myriad of youth activities such as an After School Program and Summer Day Camp, sports programs for baseball, soccer, basketball, pickleball and coaches’ clinics, and family celebrations like the Holiday Tree lighting and Community Day, and also hosts several regional athletic tournaments and events that bring thousands of people to the area who frequent local shops, restaurants and hotels. Additionally, Gavin Park provides employment opportunities for many area youth.The new pavilion is a steel structure that is 80 feet wide and 120 feet long and a height of 12 feet. The flooring is made of concrete with a brush surface to reduce slipping. It is usually available for renting from May through October with a cost TBD. The pavilion is rented for kids gatherings, wedding receptions, boy scout bottle drives, graduation parties, and reunions. It is also used for big events like The Aim Services Annual Croquet Tournament, A Taste of Wilton, May Day Classic and even the end of the year celebration for the Dorothy Nolan Elementary School. The pavilion serves a meeting area for the Summer Camp program including training, arrival and dismissal of campers, and the end of the year camp picnic. Finally, it is in the planning to use the concrete space for ice skating in the Winter. It is estimated that the pavilion has thousands of visitors every year.
Gavin Park Recreational Facility includes two multi-purpose gymnasiums, meeting room, two pavilions, 15 athletic and baseball fields, walking path/track, batting cages, indoor/outdoor batting machine, game room, playground, basketball courts, indoor/outdoor pickle ball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts and concession area.

Nathan Emery is the Installation Coordinator and has been with the company since 2005. It is his goal to bring inclusive and fun play spaces all over NY. He finds fulfillment in his role and enjoys working with an inclusive team of professionals. The Gavin Park playground is also home to Kaitlin’s Korner, a play environment filled with equipment that is perfect for children of all ages and abilities. An accessible spinner, seesaw, roller table, and swingset lets everyone join in the fun, while a sensory panel station and butterfly bench create a calmer but still engaging atmosphere. Durable carpeting completes the playground with a colorful finish that’s easy for everyone to traverse. Lynn enjoys working directly with a community or school in creating their dream playground. She appreciates the lasting impact play spaces have on children and the community.
Isabel is an avid music enthusiast; she grew up exploring choir and musical theater. She also loves to read, travel, and spend time outdoors in the warm weather.

Sara Emery has been with Parkitects since 2011 and is the Marketing and Sales Specialist. She started out as a volunteer doing community builds on the weekends and in 2015, joined the team as full-time staff.She spent her six years there working with Parkitects and Ben Frasier on each of those school and playground projects. When the design work for schools started to end at the firm she was at, Lynn joined Parkitects so that she could continue designing playgrounds and play environments for schools and communities.Erik Riffel is the Buffalo Niagara Regional Manager. He decided to join the team because the mission of Parkitects resonates with him. He likes being a part of a company whose focus is on bringing children joy. Erik is very active; he spends most of his mornings exercising and loves to travel, cook, sail, and be by the water.
Leore Kushner has worked with Parkitects since 2017. He is the Greater Hudson Regional Manager. Leore enjoys doing work that is meaningful to him and seeing the happiness a play space can bring to children.
Priscilla works in Accounting Support and has been with the company since 2019. Aside from enjoying the fun work environment that Parkitects provides, Priscilla enjoys seeing the playground designs and colors. She is happy to be a part of a team that improves play spaces for kids across the state.

Nathan is a golf enthusiast and spends his free time perfecting his golfing skills. He also loves to ski, play lacrosse and soccer, be outdoors, and go for hikes.
Director of Operations Kelle Perreault has been with Parkitects since January 2022. She comes equipped to the team with 2+ decades of leadership experience in the playground industry. Kelle is an astute planner and organizer who finds it rewarding to create systems that streamline Parkitects business operations. Bonus points – she gets to see her grandsons enjoy the playgrounds Parkitects create.
Andy spends his free time dancing with his daughter, playing rhythm guitar, rowing, and listening to music while going on adventures with his wife, Julie.Diane is a graduate of Cornell University and holds a degree in Design and Environmental Analysis. She began her design career working with small architecture and engineering firms in Santa Fe, NM and Ithaca, NY. She became an official co-owner of Parkitects in 1997 and took the lead on in-house design, marketing and finance. In September 2018, Diane assumed the role of president and now oversees all business operations.
Experiencing firsthand the joy Parkitects can bring to a child and a family motivated her to join the team. Being a person who can create and facilitate lasting impacts is important to her, and she is able to do this through her work with the company. She enjoys working with her team and seeing the difference they make in people’s lives.Her family of five are camping enthusiasts who camp several times a year at various state parks where her kids get to play on Parkitects designed playgrounds, hike, and fish.
Isabel joined the team in 2022. She works as a Sales Support Specialist and Order Entry. Being a part of the team gives her a sense of community. She enjoys working with a team whose focus is to provide accessible play for all children.Lynn Mason has been with Parkitects for over 11 years. She is the Landscape Architect, RLA, ASLA, and CPSI. She has her dual Master’s Degree in architecture and landscape architecture.
The playground in Town of Wilton’s Gavin Park features a variety of fun play areas and components. The main structure, which consists of multiple levels of decks, climbers, slides, and a shade, allows kids a place to play and escape from the sun. A fire truck-shaped structure offers younger children a space that encourages creative play as well as physical exercise.
Steve is a graduate of Michigan State University and holds dual degrees in Park Planning/Design and Landscape Horticulture. In September 1996, he founded Parkitects, becoming the upstate New York designer and distributor for Landscape Structures. Since then, Steve has guided Parkitects from a one-person startup to a multi-office firm with an emphasis on whole site and complete playground design that integrates structure and landscape.Andy Walsh is the Project Manager for the Genesee Region. He has been with Parkitects since 2021. Andy was inspired to join the team after taking his daughter to local playgrounds and witnessing the joy and excitement that play spaces brought to the community.President of Parkitects Ben Frasier has been with the company since 1999. He started out leading community-build playground projects with national nonprofit kaBOOM!. Ben thrives on working with communities to make their playground dreams a reality.
Lynn is actively involved in her community and is a member of the Village of Hamburg Community Foundation – a non-profit that works on park and village projects to improve the quality of life and amenities the village has to offer. She is also a Girl Scout troop leader for both her daughters and works to instill in them a passion for the outdoors and improving the quality of life through service and leadership.
Karen has a degree in sociology from SUNY Cortland. She spent several years as a social worker but found she missed recess too much! She joined Parkitects in 2004 with a focus on inside sales but quickly transitioned to project management. She loves collaborating with communities and schools to bring fun and challenging play experiences to their kids, and often travels with Peri, the Playground Pup, by her side.
